Thotta which was shelved for two years, due to financial problems, was restarted following both the actors career boosts. Priyamani did well in Paruthiveeran and Jeevan in Naan Avan Illai. The movie Thotta was directed by Selvah and produced by Srinidhi Arts and presented by M. Bhaskar's Oscar Movies.

After ‘Machaakkaaran', Jeevan took extra care to make his next venture ‘Thotta' a success. So Jeevan worked hard in the role of paid goon in Selva's ‘Thotta'. The ‘Thotta' film is said to be a different fare from his earlier movies. Priyamani has a lot of scope to act in the ‘Thotta' movie. Director Selva has permitted her dub for her role.

Recently, the movie hit the theatres and is still doing well as expected. Priyamani's glamour as well as her acting was appreciated and Jeevan scored as usual in his Villainic hero character.
