Dye Your Easter Eggs "Green"

This year, why not have a green Easter?

Bunnies are sensitive creatures, so when Peter Cottontail comes hopping down the bunny trail this year, why not give him an organic, environmentally friendly Easter basket?

Even though many egg dye kits are labeled non toxic, many are also made from coal tar and petroleum products--not eco friendly at all. You should be looking for plant based dyes.

You can make natural dyes from easy to find foods such as spinach, red onions, oranges, and red cabbages. If you use green products to dye eggs, you can compost everything when done.

Instead of lining your Easter basket with plastic grass, try wheat grass or raffia. They're both good recyclable choices.

Finally, please, please, please don't buy live rabbits, ducks, or chicks as a gift. Each year thousands of these animals are abandoned after acting as live ornaments.
