Dynamite Magazine - Pop Culture Magazine of the 70s and 80s
63The Brightly Colored Cover of a Dynamite Magzine
Dynamite Magazine - Favored Reading Material of Children of the 70s and 80s
Dynamite Magazine was a pop culture centric magazine that was published from 1974 to 1992. However, the magazine's heyday was definitely from the late 70s to early 90s when "celebrities" such as the Muppets, Superman and The Greatest American Hero graced the cover.
They were bubblegum for young minds. Devoid of real news or hardhitting articles, but chock full of pop culture gold.
What happened to Dynamite Magazine?
Dynamite's main mistake was trying to duplicate the other more successful magazines at the time. Mainly the teen idol magazines like Bop and Tiger Beat. Instead of focusing on fictional characters, movies and television series, the magazine began focusing on teen actors and musicians.
The last cover featured Julia Roberts and Arnold Schwartznegger.

- Rock of Ages - A Broadway Musical for the 80s Hair Band Set
I have to admit that before Bret Michael’s Tonys mishap in which he was nearly taken out by a dropping prop curtain, I had little knowledge of “Rock of Ages”, a Broadway musical constructed from 80s power ballads.
