E28 BMW
76
Hi,
Im a big fan of the old BMWs such as the e9, e24 and e30. But the one i like the most is the e28!
Im born in 1985 so i dont remember so many e28s from when they where young :) And yet when ive seen them in the later years i like how they look, with the "sharknose" and how they sound from the big inline six.
Im at my second e28 bmw now, a 528i -83. My first one was a 520i. I got a e24 633CSi, and a e34 535iM -91 too but thats a different story!
E28 bmw with a firmer suspension and some nice BBS rs split wheels is about as beautiful as it get!
The different models of the e28 bmw in europe:
- 518 M10B18 carburetted engine, produced through 9/84
- 518i M10B18 fuel-injected engine, 1984 to 1987
- 520i M20B20 early, fuel-injected engine, 1981-1985
- 520i M20B20 late, fuel-injected engine, 1985-1987
- 524d M21D24 diesel 2.4 L engine, 1983-1988
- 524td M21D24 turbocharged diesel 2.4 L engine, 1983-1987
- 525i M30B25 fuel-injected (LE-Jetronic) 2.5 L engine, 1981-1987
- 525e M20B27 fuel-injected (Motronic) 2.7 L high efficiency engine, 1983-1988
- 528i M30 fuel-injected (LE-Jetronic) 2.8 L engine, 1981-1987
- 535i M30B34 fuel-injected (Motronic) 3.4 L engine.
- M535i M30B34 fuel-injected (Motronic) 3.4 L engine, with M-Technic aerodynamic kit, sport seats and unique 390 mm alloy wheels, 1985-1988
- M5 M88/3|S38 fuel injected 3.5 L engine, 1985-1988
One popular model is the M535i wich had bigger spoilers, sportseats and different suspension but where alot cheaper than the M5. And in that time it was a real supercar with its 204hp and turning performance!
I will update with more info, pics and vids later on!
If you like the e28 bmw too, or maybe have one of your own make a comment and tell me about yours!

Second-generation five-series the bmw e28, began producing in June 1981. Despite the visual similarities with the previous generation, the inside was a whole new car. Decreased weight and lower air resistence gave lower fuel consumption than its predecessor. BMW’s first diesel engine came later in this body. The chassis (E28) is very solid. Do you mean the e24 6 series, or the e9 3.0 coupé? Both are beautiful cars. I agree that the cars have a different styling than todays cars. I like the design of the new cars too, but they are missing something these car have.
I love the old BMWs. I made a hub about the new 1-series just because I'm so freakin' excited about the fact that they're going retro-inspired for it.

It's interesting how much BMW's M division has changed. I'm actually very fond of the Six--the E9 and the 64. The Six has been a polarizing coupe because of how distinct the styling is in past and present form. But that's what I like about it.
