65What is EAMCET 2009
EAMCET (acronym for Engineering Agriculture and Medicine Common Entrance Test) is the entrance exam for Engineering, Agriculture and Medicine graduation degrees in the state of Andhra Pradesh.This test is taken by a large number of Engineering and Medical aspirants who would be wanting to join universities. Currently the JNTU( acronym for Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University), located in Hyderabad, conducts the examination. In the year 2007 around 1.85 lakh students gave a shot in the Engineering Stream and around 0.9 Lakh in the Medical & Agricultural Stream. The best part of this exam is that the results are declared in a record time of 13 or 14 days every year making the counselling and admission process very smooth. EAMCET-2009 is held on 14th of May 2009 and is conducted by JNT University on behalf of APSCHE.
Syllabus for EAMCET 2009
The syllabus for EAMCET 2009 will be of intermediate (+2 level). The test consists of questions in maths or mathematics, physics and chemistry for entrance test to engineering streams and biology (consisting of botany and zoology), physics and chemistry for entrance into medicine stream. The test is of objective type with 160 multiple choice questions. There are no negative marks for attempting the questions. Ranks are announced based on the performance in the entrance test ( EAMCET 2009). Admissions will be done through a counseling (EAMCET 2009 counselling). The candidates are given the choice of branch and college based on their ranks and reservation.

EAMCET -2009 results will be declared on Monday, 1st June 2009 at 6 p.m. The results can be checked from the following website:

EAMCET 2009 Counselling
Eamcet 2009 Counseling will be done at various places in Andhra Pradesh and it is a web based counseling. The student is called when his turn comes (the schedule of which is given in notification) and his certificates are verified. At the main hall of the counseling spot d,gital screens are provided showing the latest status of availability of colleges and the branches and the facilities available at the colleges. Only one parent is allowed to accompany the student into the Eamcet 2009 counseling hall. The student is shown the various colleges , branches and the number of seats available for different reservation categories ( sc/st/bc/ph/sports/ ex-service men) and the student was given five choices and one of it is allotted to the student.
The students should pay the prescribed fee by DD at the counters of the college allotted and get the receipt for admission card and fee. Thus admission procedure for eamcet 2009 is completed.
