You will understandably want to talk to a real human being and will begin looking for an eBay phone number. Sometimes eBay's help is confusing, but you are well advised to try their help page first. That's because you are likely to encounter more problems in the future, given the nature of human beings, some of whom are dishonest. When you speak with an operator, you are well advised to know the eBay rules. They will ask you what you've already done to resolve the problem and if your answer doesn't fit their rules, you won't get the help you want. For instance, let's say you are upset about an unpaid item. The eBay rules state that
Sellers can report an Unpaid Item up to 45 days after the transaction date (i.e. the date when the buyer commits to buying the item and the seller commits to selling it). Usually the seller must wait 7 days after a listing closes to file an Unpaid Item Dispute. However, in the following exceptional cases, the seller can file a dispute immediately:
* At the time of the filing the buyer is no longer a registered user of eBay.
* The seller and buyer wish to mutually withdraw from the transaction.
So if it's only been three days and the buyer is still a registered eBay user, or it's been 60 days, then you're out of luck and will get no help or sympathy from an eBay rep.
please don't abuse the system by calling with non-issues, they are more likely to change they're telephonenumbers because of abuse.

Some suggestions before calling eBay:
* Try the online contact forms first. Go to the front page of eBay and click on the "Help" link at the right top. Why? Because using the eBay contact phone number first can aggravate the personnel and predispose them against you. They will ask you what you've done before contacting them, and they will tell you to go back and fill out forms before they will help.
* eBay knows that they could keep an army of thousands busy on the phone, so if the call volume gets too extensive, they will simply change their phone numbers and we won't be able to contact them in dire emergencies. (Check the online yellow pages and you will see that they are not listed)
* When/if you use the eBay phone number, you will discover that the best you can do is leave a message. No one answers these phones. So, will they call you back? A loud and affirmative "Maybe"!

I posted an item to sell on ebay a little over a month ago but never sold. I paid a little over $5 to post it, and my recent bank statement shows another charge of $5 to my account!! Yes, I am new to ebay, but after diligently looking I still can not find a (working)phone number for a (live) customer service agent. I am trying to buy products and entered my name, address, phone number, and pressed CONTINUE but was denied on account of not filling in a current email address. Are you saying, effectively, that one can not buy unless one has an email address? This is ridiculous. Further, not to be able to talk to a customer service agent to override this glitch in assumptions or oversight is also ridiculous. However do you make money at this rate? I have been diligently pursuing for nearly an hour now and am no better off than ten minutes after I started and decided on what I wanted.
Please call 1-630-337-6061 if you want to make money now and in the future with me. I have been planning to do business with you, but this is a bad start. There are a number of items on my list, so I am eager to get on with the process. Please direct me through resolution to finish the buying process soon. There are time limits on my end, too.
Thank you so much for your attention to this matter. I'm betting this is a bothersome question for you, too, so why don't you enter a solution on that very page? This should save and customer service a lot of time.
Thank you personally for your effort on my behalf. A course in ebay buying and selling has been on my list for some time. I just cannot get a positive respond from Ebay Safty and Security Team about a race discrimination case on Ebay. It fully violated the Ebay feedback abuse policy. I filed 3 times of my complain. All reps there either no respond or said they cannot do anything unless than the court to prove. I just don't believe so. I cannot find anybody to talk in Ebay. No any number in on Ebay web is useful.

Fun-nay site. People first off, this is not an EBAY help page.
However, ebay can be reached through there site. They almost hide the link. Go to the homepage, and look in the upper right corner - it says live help. They're available 24/7 but right now, I'm number 35 in line with 30+ mins on wait, normally give it 10-15 mins.

I used ebay to sell mobile phones not long ago. I sold some items & sent out goods, got positive feedback. Now they suddently suspended my account for no reason, all the bid winners now wrote email to me and suspect I'm a crook. I sent out the phones, and now I can't even withdraw money from Paypal. What a big joke.
They ask me to send all kinds of documents. If they want to do it, so do it from the beginning when I apply the account. not after I have sold a few things & started to gain my reputation. I really want to sue them.

Three days before christmas I sold two items on ebay for extra cash for the holidays. When the payments went through on paypal, ebay and paypal decided to put a hold on the funds. I had sold a phone two months before and had no problem or hold on my funds. I tried to find out why and ebay gave me no response. Live chat only bumped me around between different reps all telling me they needed to transfer me to someone else to help me. Two weeks later and my funds are still on hold. I finally got a contact number for all those who need it: 18669349647. Its meant for disputes but push 2 and just stay calm and don't give up with the rep. FYI It is illegal for a corporation to not provide a contact number. It is the law that every business have a phone support option. Also it is illegal in the united states to place a hold on funds and not pay interest and the funds witheld. Think about it, EBAY AND PAYPAL are holding these funds. They aren't just sitting on someones desk somewhere. They are collecting interest in a bank somewhere. Who gets this interest? No the consumer thats for sure. Big f-in a-holes making every dime they can from us.
So! I start using eBay again.. (I stopped using Ebay before because their fees were so high several years ago) to try to sell some things around my house, instead of having a garage sale. I get going and after listing 20 items total over the course of two weeks I all of a sudden get this error message (after taking 25 minutes to research an item decription for what I was selling, and then submitting it) that says that I am limited to only a certain number of listings withing a 30 day period of time!!??? When the hell did they implement such a stupid rule? How do people run a business on this rediculous site? This is just horrible. Their customer service has been shit since day 1, and as I can see again, still hasn't changed a bit! Even their live support (which is new since I started selling again) just refers me back to sending in an email to someone in customer service....WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE, HOW DO THEY GET AWAY WITH SUCH CRAP CUSTOMER SERVICE!?

I gave buyers a seacond chance at buying for 220.00 which was my reserve., free shipping. It got posted buy it now for 20.00 dollars . I have used Ebay for many years and have a rating of 100%. But Ebay has lost me as a user and customer forever. Not only that, based upon my experience, my children will never use Ebay and, over the course of our lifetime, who knows how many potential customers will never use Ebay after we relate our experience with Ebay.
It is only when things go awry that we truly find out about a whether a company cares or is fair and ethical in the way they respond to a customer problem. I will summarize my experience.
In May 2008, I was the high bidder on an auto thru Ebay (item # 320256158335) for $10,000. The money was paid promptly ($2000 thru Paypal and $8000 by bank check). I am in Virginia and the sellers were in Texas-1200 miles away. The sellers claimed they had a clean title but never paid off the loan on their auto which was confirmed by me thru the TEXAS Motor Vehicles Dept. Virginia is a title state. Consequently, since seller were unable to deliver the title I would not take delivery of the vehicle.
A $20,000 guarantee was so prominently displayed on the Ebay ad for this vehicle if title was not delivered within 90 days.
Yet, when I filed a claim with Ebay, 33 days after my purchase, I was told my claim was too late..had to be filed within 30 days which did not make sense since I had to give seller 90 days to produce the title. Every attempt I made to contact Ebay was rebuffed using the 30 day deadline for filing claims. I also filed a report with Paypal within 45 days regarding Seller unwilling/inability to deliver the vehicle. They investigated and found the seller at fault.
Ebay customer service continued being totally unhelpful. Instead they advised the seller inappropriately to the extent seller quoted them and refused to make arrangements to refund my money.
Ebay customer service advised me to file a report with the FBI online, which I did, but that was no help. The FBI site only collects statistics....takes no action on any case under a $100,000 of value.
Having failed to get Ebay to honor its guarantee, or help in any meaningful way and Paypal unable to recoup even my $2000 I had no choice but to file a civil action against the sellers, which I did. However, whenever I asked Ebay to help me with original documentation of the contract that Ebay has with the seller and or a copy of the Ebay online ad of the auto I was met by a rude, non-cooperating response saying "we cannot and will not provide you with anything more to do with this case". So much for Ebay support.
16 months have passed since I paid the money. Sellers avoid appearing in court to answer the charges.
The completely uncooperative attitude from Ebay, unhelpful and inability of Paypal to get my money back and the cost of my time and to retrieve my money has completely soured me on Ebay and Paypal that I WILL NEVER EVER USE THEIR WEBSITES OR SERVICES and willingly share my experiences with people around me to make them aware that Ebay/Paypal do not care for clients only their fees,
I just though you should know.

I just wanted to thank Ken Mehta and all of the other responses or comments in this site... i was about to purchase a car advertised 2006 honda accord 56,000 miles for $3200. I thought i would be protected through the vehicle purchase protection. Ebay would hold the money untill i had 5 days to agree to the sale. This lady told me she was moing to Portugal and it would be too expensive to ship the car there. I was wondering why not sell it to a dealer and get 10 to 15 thousand for it as apposed to selling it for $3200... im sorry to hear everyone's misfortune but would like to thank everyone's story for helping atleast one person NOT get scammed... I guess the old adage still rings true... If its too good to be true... it probably is... Also if ilene.nathan@yahoo.com could give us an update it would be very helpfull to future shoppers hoping to get a great deal on ebay... thanks again guys...

I called the powerseller, I am a powerseller, and they connected me to the regular customer account. She was asking me for personal information, and I asked her if she was in the USA. She would not tell me. What a scam Ebay is. Phishing for personal information.

I ordered my phone on dec. 8th, and I still didnt get my product and its been 20 days. I really need this product. Whoever I bought the product from, she already took the money out from my bank. I tried to get her number, but I couldnt. Ebay doesnt have that.
