Ask Susan Peters Cat Food Review:

EVO 95% Duck Canned Cat Food looks pretty good to me except for the use of "natural flavors". I often question how these "flavors" were created (many companies use manure) and why do they need to be added.

**Update** Innova has just been included in a Class Action against the company for using products unfit for human consumption as part of the ingredients in their pet food. I have adjusted the review to reflect the Class Action against Innova.

I wish I had found this review before I ordered a shipment of Innova Evo 95% Beef canned cat food. I had no idea this company was using bad ingredients (thought it was just the opposite, finally a food with only the 'good essential needed ingredients". I can see why folks are making their own pet food these days.

Cat Woman,

Good luck with your quest for a quality food. There sure aren't many good foods on the market these days and the pet food makers are getting even more sneaky about what they are putting in the pet food. You should see what Science Diet uses - automobile antifreeze, de-icer, and the stuff used for lethal injections. These are just the preservatives! Only thing I see being "preserved" is the vet's bank account.

I had to start making my own pet foods.

Thanks Susan,

I admire you for making your own cat food. I think I am leaning that way too. I really hope that something will be done about the pet food industry...they're getting rich and pets are dying . How can they keep getting by with using all these harmful, appalling ingredients?

Cat Woman,

Sounds like I'm a real "Susie Homemaker" doesn't it? Truth is I don't want to have to cook for my pets. I want to be able to pull a tab or unzip a bag and feed them on the run but the pet food industry are still killing so many pets that I feel I have no options but to cook for them. I can't believe the pet food companies are not catering to our needs and making healthy products. Where are the hearts of these people?
