Ear Candles for Earache and Sinus Relief

This very gentle therapy was first introduced to the West by a Native American tribe and Ear Candles have been used to treat various ear problems for centuries.

It is a hollow tube which is made out of cotton flax so actually, the term candle is slightly misleading. Honey and herb oils (predominantly St. Johns Wort, Sage and Chamomile) stiffen the flax. Actually making Hopi candles is quite a complex process and they are all made in a traditional way.

Ear candles are very effective in the treatment of sinusitis, earwax, earache, rhinitis and even the condition tinnitus can be improved and the treatment is very relaxing and can take up to an hour and this is dependant on the actual condition and treatment. The whole process is fairly simple because the candle is placed over the ear and is lit so that it produces just a gentle heat. The ear wax becomes softened and is drawn into the candle. A massage of the ear and immediate area follows once the candle has been removed. The other ear is then treated and this is then followed by a soothing facial massage and with a special emphasis on the sinus areas.

Hopi candles are not suitable if anyone has perforated eardrums or if there are any allergies to the ingredients contained within the candles.

Other natural treatments which assist healing include:

Olive Oil

Olive oil can be used for several days prior to the treatments as this will help to soften any wax within the ear and it can also ease any irritation.

Meditation

Used for inner healing, meditation can help to ease the symptoms of sinus pain and earache as well as boosting sensations of inner calm and peace ideal for holistic health.

Onion Juice

Warm onion juice and add just 2-3 drops to the ear.

Vitamin C

Increasing the intake of Vitamin C is useful to help combat any infection.
