That page will refer visitors to the affiliate site through your affiliate link (the link to a site that shows the owner of the product that the buyer came from your page/site online, so you will get paid). But you first need to promote your site to get visitors, which takes a little time if you do it through free traffic sources. Paid sources can provide traffic instantly, but that luxury is not something most can afford.

So maybe after a week or 2 weeks or longer you make your first sale but you won't get paid as you will have to wait another 45 days at least. No that is not really what you want if you are looking to make some money fast.

Therefore we need to find a program that pays directly into your paypal account or through a check every week. The one that i found is the best affiliate program for that is amazon. First of all they are the 'most trusted online shop' and are the cheapest 99% of the time. The other great thing is that amazon is very good in converting people into buyers and to make them buy other things too. And you are still getting a commission for that too!

You get paid quickly via a cheque, so no waiting endlessly for your money. But you will need to setup a site through which you pre-sell your visitors. That may be a little daunting for a lot of people, or maybe you are a techie but don't really know where to start and how to best create those sites for top rankings and maximum earnings.
