Everyone at one point in time or another has surfed past those sites that offer free ipods or games. A lot of people automatically assume those sites are scams because who gets anything for free, right? I can assure you that most of those sites, called incentivized freebie websites (IFW for short) are not scams.

The IFW sites work in a similar manner to the GPT sites that you find around the net. The site owner recieves a commission for sending new leads, that would be you, to the advertiser's offers.

Once you register, complete the offer requirement, and refer a few friends you wait to recieve your gift or sometimes the site will pay you the cash equivalent of the prize to your paypal account or send you a check for that amount.

Always remember when signing up to use valid information. If you give the site incorrect information then they can't send you your gift or depending on what type of false informaton is given they could terminate your account for violating the TOS. Only sign up once per household and don't sign up at a public computer, such as a library, because you could risk signing up from the same computer someone else already used.

Once your registered you will need to complete the advertisers offer or offers depending on the site. Some sites require you to complete 1 credit worth of offers, which could be one offer or more, while others require you to complete 2 or more for higher priced items.

Take a look at the offers and see what interests you before signing up. Once you've determined what offers sound good to you then you need to do a few things to be sure the offers credit correctly.

Use Internet Explorer to sign up for the offer since other browsers may not credit correctly. Disable popup/cookie blockers while you complete the offer (you can turn them back on when your finished). Clear your cookies and log back into the site.

Choose the offer that interests you and review the requirements to get credit (sign up for free trial, sign up at site and bid on something, etc.) and sign up for the offer. Be sure and write down all offer details, especially if it is a trial so if it turns out to be something your not interested in then you can cancel before the trial period is up, so if you decide to sign up at other sites in the future you know what offers you already did since you can only sign up for them once.

Some people suggest leaving your browser window open for about 5 to 10 minutes to help the site find the cookie on your computer and show that you have completed the offer.

If you need to complete other offers to equal the 1 credit required by the site then clear your cookies, log into the site, and complete another offer.

Now you just need to get the word out to enough people to complete your referral requirement. This can be done in a few ways.

1. You can get family and friends (as long as they aren't in the same household or use a public computer)
2. Set up a blog with your referral link.
3. Post to a few forums (just don't spam your link because it could get your account put on hold)
4. If you really get into the freebie sites you could sign up at these forums.
