Writing Success Means More Profits

Earning more money with your hubs is undoubtedly the goal of most of us (if not all of us) here at HubPages. Why do we want to get paid? Oddly enough, for some, it's not because they really need the money (that doesn't apply to me of course), but it feeds their ego or sense of pride to know that they are successful with their writing. But the truth of the matter is, writing success means more profits, any way you look at it.

Writing and getting paid on a "hit and miss" basis is not really what most of us have in mind, that is why we have chosen to try our hand here at hubpages. Here we have the promise of residual income held out to us. This is an opportunity to make reoccurring cash! To successfully attain to a steady monthly income that you can truly count on is the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. It may be Google Adsense, Amazon, Ebay, or some other affiliate or advertiser that you're hoping to get that first check from. Whoever it is, you don't want it to be a one time thing, you want to generate an income source that will continue to flow and never dry up.

While I know that success is relative, and by NO means am I inferring that success and earning money mean one and the same. I do, however, think it is naive on my part and anyone else’s part, to believe that you can be successful in this day and age, and be flat broke! So since success is relative, it won’t mean the same thing for me, OR for the same reason, as it would for someone who can’t relate to being broke. Some have already started earning online, and tend to forget how hard it was to make that first $100 from Google. But to those who are still struggling just to make that first $1, they view that $100 as if it were a million. What many fail to realize is: earning that first $1 is really a milestone, because it reconfirms the following:

YES! "I" CAN REALLY MAKE MONEY ONLINE, IT REALLY IS POSSIBLE The dollar may be a drop in the bucket, but after all, you gotta start somewhere right?  But what happens after that first drop! How do you get the money pouring in? If your aim is residual bucks, big residual bucks, you will eventually have to face the inevitable: you will need to do some work! You can't afford to just leave the money you plan to earn to chance. You have to not only do the writing, but take the necessary steps to promote your writing, if you want to get paid, get paid well, and get paid regularly. But before you determine just how much time and effort you are willing and able to put into creating a reoccurring income, you need to figure something out. What does YOUR writing success mean to you. If you don't know what you;re striving for, you won't know when you get it!

Personally, for me writing success means earning enough of an online profit, that I am self sufficient and can pay my bills with my writing efforts. My objective is to make enough residual income on a regular basis, so I can stop worrying about returning to a “conventional” 9 – 5 job. I have taken this past year off (mostly not by choice), after becoming unemployed. I have spent every available moment of this time learning how to market my writing (except for the mandatory sleeping, eating, bathing and daily walks:).

Devoting time and energy (if not monetary resources) to finding workable money making solutions is hard. I didn’t realize it at the start, but there is no one easy way to magically start generating the kind of income you can actually live on. Typically, you will invest at least 4 or 5 months before you began to see profits at all (and the word “profits”, like the word success, is relative). The online marketing experts all say it takes time to crack the code.

For most of us, discovering different solutions to earning more money online is like trying to solve the Rubik’s cube! I personally never was able to figure out the 1974 puzzle that the world went so crazy over.  Unlike the challenge of solving the rubik's cube, we can't just put our money making endeavors aside and chalk it up as another mindless pursuit.  Those of us who are truly serious able discovering the best money making solutions realize, if we the first 100 times, we have to try a little harder the next 100.

From what I’ve read everywhere, most people give up on their online money making efforts at about the third month, if they stick around that long. I find that really ironic, considering you typically start making money at about the fourth month. That means, those writers and marketers that fizzled out in that third month don’t know how close they were to at least starting to generate some earnings. So I guess the fact that I have hung in here for nine long months and am still here is a very good sign! The same is true of you, if you find yourself in a similar situation, trying to earn a living by writing and/or affiliate marketing online. But failing to discover creative solutions to get around money-making obstacles will leave to eventual failure.
