A family tradition at our house for all holidays is always a big dinner. The whole family gets together and enjoys the holiday. One Easter we were trying to think of a way to start the dinner that would reinforce the meaning of the holiday, tell the story of Easter, and give everyone a chance to particpate.

What we did was find the Easter story in the Bible, and then make place cards for everyone who was going to be at the table. We printed a few sentences from the Easter story on each place card and then numbered them in order.

When we all sat down for dinner, each of us read our place card in order, telling the Easter story so everyone could hear it. It was a fun way to start off the dinner and the family members loved it. Now we do this for every large holiday dinner, telling the story of that particular holiday in place cards so everyone has a chance to add their own blessing to the meal.
