Do you like the "cottage" look in home décor?  One of the easiest and least expensive looks to acquire, the look of cottage charm is cozy, warm and inviting and will make even your first time guests feel right at home. 

While white woodwork may not go well with other décor styles, it blends in well with cottage décor and makes the house look brighter and more alive. Don't throw away your existing furniture; instead just paint them white. You may not want to do this to all your furniture however. Country is synonymous with nature. Bunches of flowers can bring nature into every room and also add a profusion of color without being overbearing. No need for elaborate arrangements and delicate flowers- a bunch of wild flowers in a vase goes fabulously with cottage décor.

The cottage look is warm and cozy and light, flowery curtains that flutter in the breeze will help you achieve just that look. Ditch the blinds and heavy drapes; they belong to other décor trends and do nothing to enhance your cottage décor.

The cottage look is informal but pulled together and slipcovers do just that. They are inviting and give a room a casual, yet pulled-together look.  Slipcovers can also work wonders on worn or older furniture and are easier to keep clean as they can be easily removed and washed.

Table lamps incorporate the look of cottage charm much better than floor lamps, which are usually too opulent or modern to fit in with the more laid-back cottage charm.
