Easy Crochet Lace Edging
72
This edging is fast and simple, looks elegant, and can be used for a variety of purposes. In the sample below I used size 10 crochet cotton and a size 1 lace hook. Both can be adjusted to personal taste depending on the desired outcome. My project was to create an edging for placemats and runner, so I wanted something fairly substantial yet still "lacey." But the pattern can be adjusted to be either chunky or delicate (and everything in between): with yarn and a larger hook, it could be the edging for an afghan; with very fine thread and a more delicate lace hook, it could be the embellishment on a baby's dress. Try a few inches with the hook and thread you have chosen to see how it comes out. If you aren't satisfied with this sample piece, experiment by changing hook or thread size.
