As someone who hates to cook, is very busy, and has a family to take care of, I am always looking for easy, tasty meals. I like them to take fewer dishes (at least usually). I like to be able to prepare them frm frozen meat if need be ( I don't always plan ahead real well). And I like them to be super tasty!

I call this beef and noodles, because that is exactly what it is. However, it can be made with wild meat as well. I have used venison, moose, and buffalo. You can use chunk meats or ground. Both work for a wonderfully tasty meal that is fairly easy to make.

You Will Need...

  • Meat. It is often suggest that you use one pound of ground meat or chunked meat for recipes such as this. If you have a small family, are cutting expenses, or aren't a huge fan of meat you can use less then one pound.

  • 2 Packages of Onion Soup Mix (such as Lipton's). Beef soup base can be substituted if you dislike onions, but you will have to add and taste to get the correct amount.

  • 1 can of cream of mushroom or cream of onion soup. The cream of onion is better, but not as easy to find.

  • Salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste.

  • 1 pound of wide egg noodles.

  • 1 pound of your favorite veggies. A mixed batch such as corn, peas, carrots, and even lima beans work well. Avoid summer squash and Zucinni for this recipe since it adds a flavor that doesn't go well.

One pan directions

You will need a large fry pan. I like to use one with a tall edge making it easier to stir.

Brown the meat in about 1 cup of water and with one package of soup mix. If you are making it from a lean meat such as venison, or other wild game you might want to add a couple of tablespoons of olive oil or grapeseed oil to add some moisture.

Do not drain your fat from your meat. This will become part of your seasoning and moisture. After your meat is browned add a dash of salt, pepper, and garlic powder. You will want to taste it. If it is bland add just a pinch or so more.

Next add four cups of water (right there on top of your meat, juices, and seasonings. Bring to a boil. Once it is boiling add your pound of egg noodles and your last package of seasoning. Let it cook for about ten minutes. You will want to stir often to make sure that your noodles are all getting cook (or top with a large lid to help hold in steam).

Check your noodles (I always do it the professional way and pop that sucker into my mouth! :-D) If it is chewy, but not crunchy you have done well. Add your cream of mushroom soup and a little extra water if it is looking dry. You will finish cooking your noodles in your soup, and toss in your frozen veggies. When your veggies are hot your noodles should be done. Check them once again to make sure.

Searve hot. It has become an all in one meal that is tasty and easy to cook. You can even cook your meat this way while it is still frozen.

I Hope You Enjoy

I wouldn't call myself some great chef. But I like food and I like flavor. This is a meal that can have both very easily and very quicly. I hope you enjoy, my version of beef and noodles. From my kitchen to yours.
