Easy Pita Pizza - Pepperoni

Before you start - Preheat your oven to about 500 F, the hotter the better, but do not set the oven on broil! If you have a pizza stone - leave it in the oven while the oven heats up. If you don't - no worries! Just bake your pizzas on a baking sheet.

Ingredients

1 whole wheat pita

1/4 cup your favorite marinara/spaghetti sauce

1 oz fat-free or part-skim mozzarella cheese, shredded

8 slices of turkey pepperoni

italian seasoning - for garnish

Directions

1. Spread marinara sauce on one side of whole wheat pita.

2. Top with shredded mozzarella, turkey pepperoni and sprinkle lightly with italian seasoning

3. Place on pre-heated pizza stone or baking sheet and bake for 7 minutes.

Easy Pita Pizza - Cheesy White

1/4 cup fat-free or part-skim ricotta cheese

1/4 cup frozen chopped spinach, thawed, drained and squeezed dry

1 oz fat-free or part-skim mozzarella, shredded

Directions

1. Mix first 5 ingredients together.

2. Spread ricotta mixture on one side of the whole wheat pita

3. Top with shallots/onions, spinach, and shredded mozzarella

4. Place on pre-heated pizza stone or baking sheet and bake for 7 minutes.

Fit 4 Flava Tips of my Trade

- I modified the ricotta mixture after the video was shot to boost flavor without adding too many more calories or ingredients! I strongly recommend using the recipe version!!!

- If you love to cook like I do, pizza stones are a great addition to your kitchen! You can even bake cookies on them and your cookie bottoms don't get darker and darker with every batch! LOL

- Play around with the toppings - try some crumbled veggie/soy sausage or turkey sausage instead of pepperoni if you prefer sausage pizza. Add green peppers or even broccoli! These are just starting points - the SKY'S THE LIMIT when you create your own pizzas!

- Make it a full meal with a nice mixed green salad!
