2 Easy Recipes - Asian Indian Cuisine

This is one of the easiest indian non-vegetarian dishes you can prepare.

Ingredients:

1kg Mutton

2 or 3 chopped Onions

1 tomato

1 tablespoon chili powder

1 tablespoon coriander powder

1 teaspoon turmeric powder

1/2 cup oil

1 teaspoon jeera ( fenugreek seeds)

1 tablespoon garam masala powder( cardamom, cloves, bay leaves, cinnamon crushed together)

2 tablespoons garlic/ginger paste

salt as per taste

Cooking Methods:

Clean and cut the mutton into small pieces and cook in a pressure cooker with a little bit of chopped onions, little bit of chopped tomato and one teaspoon of ginger garlic paste and salt. Remove from cooker after the meat is done and keep aside.

Heat oil in a pan. Add jeera( fenugreek seeds) and saute the onions until brown. Add garlic/ginger paste, chili powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, salt and mutton. Stir until the masala is completely dry and coats the cooked mutton pieces. Garnish with garam masala. Remove from heat and serve hot.

Goes well with rice and Dal or Chapattis and rotis.

2.  Mutton Steaks or Chops

.Another variation is to boil the meat in the cooker like the above recipe, remove the stock and marinate the meat in chilli powder, garam masala, a pnich of turmeric powder and salt  for 1 hour and shallow fry in oil till the meat is cooked. Can cook boneless meat, beef steaks and chops in the same way too.
