Save Energy, the Environment, and Money!

I've been researching some ways to cut my electricity bill and i found some great ones that when added up can save more than $1000 for larger households.

  1. Replace normal light bulbs with compact fluorescent ones, these cost a small fraction of the energy to run.
  2. Make sure to turn lights of when not using them or use only 1 lamp in a room rather than multiple ones.
  3. Use ceiling fans rather than air conditioning, it may not be as comfortable, but air conditioners use vast amounts of energy.
  4. Use small heaters to only heat specific rooms, close doors and use space heaters. Also, turn off these heaters when you're not in the room.
  5. If at all possible, use cold water to do laundry, and dry laundry on a laundry rack or clothesline.
  6. Turn off the computer when it is not being used or put it into sleep mode.
  7. Unplug appliances that are not being used if possible, things such as TV's or other things left plugged in constantly are always using energy, more than you would expect.
  8. Only try to buy eco-friendly appliances in the future.

Making sure you stick to these simple tips will save you a large sum of money and reduce pollution. Hope you enjoyed!
