Easy Peach Cobbler
46This cobbler is not too sweet so it really brings out the flavor of the peaches. It is such a simple dessert to make and really tastes delicious. We like it as a wonderful finish to a typical summer meal of grilled meat and salad. It is a very tasty way to take advantage of fruits that are in season.
Equipment8 by 9 baking dishMixing bowlsMixing spoonParing knifeIngredientsAbout 2 cups worth of peeled and sliced peaches.1/4 cup brown sugar1 tbsp ground cinnamon1/2 cup butter1 cup white whole wheat flour1/2 cup sugar11/2 tsp baking powder2/4 cup heavy creamMix together the peaches, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Set them aside. Put the butter in the baking dish and melt in a warm oven. While the butter is melting, in another bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and baking powder. Add the heavy cream and stir until it is moist throughout the batter.Remove the baking dish from the oven and pour the batter into it. Do not stir. The butter will come up around the sides and top. Spoon the peach mixture over the top of the batter distributing evenly, again, DO NOT STIR! The peaches will gradually sink through the batter to the bottom as it is cooking.Bake in the oven at 350 for 30-40 minutes. Remove when the top is golden. Allow it to cool a few minutes, but serve while still warm. This dessert tastes wonderful with just a little bit of cream to top it off or some vanilla ice cream instead. One variation that I especially like is to add pecans to the peaches. This adds a warm nutty flavor that adds richness to the otherwise light and simple flavor of the peaches. You could also use this recipe with berries or other stone fruits such as plums or nectarines.PrintShare it! — Rate it: up down flag this hub
