If you want to be healthy, you should change some small habits that negatively affect your physical well-being. Changing these small habits that are bad for your health is the very first step to a healthier and happier you. If you want to start now, here are some simple eating habits you should try.

  • Prepare a food diary for everything that you eat. You can use a small notepad for this one that you can keep in your bag and carry it around wherever you go. Jot down everything that you have eaten in your diary. Do not cheat, include everything, even if it is just a small bite of chocolate. Anything that enters your mouth should be noted. This notebook can help you monitor and keep track of your daily intake. If you can see that you are eating too much carbohydrates in one week, then maybe you should lessen your carb intake. This can eventually guide you to eating healthy.
  • Healthy eating means you also enjoy the food on your plate. People always make themselves suffer by not eating all those delicious foods because they are afraid of too much calories or fats. Relax. You should enjoy eating. You can eat almost everything as long as the portions you eat meet your body needs. You can have a small bite of chocolate but do not eat the whole bar.
  • Also make sure you have plenty of time for every meal. If you are late for an appointment or something, you tend to rush while eating your meal. You should sit comfortably and taste or savour each and every bite. You also should not skip breakfast because this is the most important meal of the day and it will give you energy for the next few hours before lunch.
  • One very obvious healthy eating trick is to not eat a lot. Do not pile your plate high with all the foods served on the table. The best thing that you can do is to use a small plate. This way, the portions of food on your plate. Moreover, small plates make foods appear bigger in portion. Large plates will make you feel that you’ve got less food and sends your subconscious a visual message that your helping is not enough for you. This will make you feel hungry and will make you eat more and recklessly.
  • Like what has been mentioned previously, healthy eating does not mean you have to sacrifice your favourite foods. You can eat lots of different types of foods—vegetables, grains, fruits, meat, and fish. A variety of foods in a day will give your body all the nutrients that it needs. You have to have a colourful plate for every meal—orange for carrots, green for leafy veggies, yellow for banana, etc.

These tips are what you should do to have a healthy lifestyle and to be a healthy individual. They are not difficult and they will not cost you anything which makes them perfect for all types of people from all walks of life.
