Eazy-E Part 1

People always loved to point out that Eazy-E built his record label from the profits he made selling drugs. What narcs.

Yet this distinctly high-pitched voice would elevate gangsta rap, a genre that became the very plane that we talked about in Axl Rose...for the entire hip-hop movement. Do I give a damn about hip hop? No. But do I give a damn about the fact that total squares recognize the 100% marketability of entertainment products that have the f word? I'm completely counting on it. I don't like to write about feelings -- I like to write RoboCop and Die Hard and stuff like that. I don't see why we're left with Seth Rogen's acting whenever it comes to any other movie where the f word is allowed. But thanks to Eazy-E, this is at least 1000% of music today.

"Eazy-E had help," I once argued to Crappy Carl.

"What are you talking about?" he replied.

My argument was at the time I thought was pretty simple. That as our country becomes ever less "racist", they still allow young African-Americans to be marred by the influences that Congress hopes leads to them killing each other. The aim is to have everyone who's not white think education and keeping your dick in your pants is for losers. This is why hippy druggie bands aren't allowed to make it big anymore but songs like "Let Me Smell Yo Dick" and "Cop Killer" are. They don't want white kids marred by similar influences.

I asked Crappy Carl about this. He said "it's a confidence thing." That "Eazy-E and other gangsta rappers "provide a way to inspire you to stand up for yourself and ask out chicks. Grateful Dead encourages you to sit back and watch someone else take them."

This was the most compelling argument I've ever heard for why white kids try to act black.

To alot of white kids, black kids simply never get embarrassed. And just like me when I was younger, we want to learn to do that.

Gangsta rap didn't get big because the black community's misery was a source of white America's entertainment...they got big because some of us white kids, our enemies in life, are guys who are trying to become Nazis. And just like me when I was younger...we wanted to learn how to scare said white trash the way that guys like Eazy-E did...
