There are many ways to run an online business today, but there is one site that single-handedly changed the way home based business e-commerce is done. I am talking, of course, about eBay. Today, there are thousands of people making a living by selling things on eBay. There are hundreds of thousands of people who make money regularly selling virtually everything on eBay.

I first became an Ebay PowerSeller over 3 years ago. There are many ways to become a PowerSeller, but I did it by selling a lot of items at $10 to $20 making a profit on every item. Before you get started on your Ebay Home Business, make sure you get all the information you need. Put a little thought into what you think your business will be selling. Set up your user ID to reflect what you think you will be selling. You can always change this, but you are only allowed one change every 30 days. You will need a credit card to set up a sellers account. You won't be charged anything right away, but you have to have one on file before you are allowed to sell anything. Your credit card will be billed monthly for the auction fees you incur. The last thing you really need to set up is a PayPal account. This will allow you to take online payments for your auctions.

There are a couple other things to consider before you put your first auction up. Where are you going to ship to? If you choose to ship internationally, you will need to make sure you know how much extra that costs so you can add it to your shipping price. You can find some information on costs at USPS.com or UPS.com. What forms of payment are you going to accept? Are you going to set up a post office box? There are more things to consider so I recommend keeping a list.
