eco systems and charity gifts

Non profit organizations that deal with the eco systems that must be sustained to a certain level of non toxicity often rely on charity gifts from the public and on the charity work of members and non members of their societies.

Protecting eco systems also means protecting wildlife, plant life, fish, and all other types of organism. The list of charity organizations can get very long.

A sample charity

The most popular charity driven ecological society is likely Greenpeace International. They are often seen in news broadcast in positions of extreme danger as they try to fight the cause they believe in. When you visit the Greenpeace website you are told that their mandate is to be a catalyst voice in an energy revolution, a defender of the oceans, a protector of the world's ancient forests, a worker for disarmament and peace, a creator of a toxic free future, and acampaigner for sustainable agriculture. Greenpeace is International and they have offices in several countries worldwide. Another button on the Greenpeace website that you will find is the donate button.

They make no small talk about the benefits of charity donations from the public and they go as far as asking people to sign over a portion of their life earnings or even all of their willed estate if they feel the need to add to what they believe to be a philanthropic journey.

The charity money goes to all types of existing and new projects.

But as stated before Greenpeace is only one such society. There are hundreds of others and several of them rely on charity gifts from the public.

Ethics - Logic - Common Sense

Certainly there is a point when even charity donations can be considered abused and where nature must be allowed to rid the world of some species but when species die because of the greed or the carelessness of humans then it is imperative to have leagues or societies who are willing to fight for the cause.

The Panda Bear issue which is hitting the news lately is a developing scenario like I have just described. How much of the charity donation should be used to protect a species is a matter of objective in my opinion. If you donate charity dollars do you ask yourself similar questions?

Charity donations are sometimes the life blood of organizations who study eco systems and who go out of their way to protect endangered species.

It is important to feel as though your contribution is being used wisely.
