Children can learn a lot about money matters.
Children can learn a lot about money matters.

Money problems are incredibly common in today's world and really they have been prevalent throughout history as well.

A large number of lives would be incredibly bettered if only all individuals were educated about money and how to manage it properly.  This can and should start with the training of people at a very young age.

The phrase "Money doesn't grow on trees!" is so well known because of the large degree of ignorance regarding money, where it comes from, what efforts are put into obtaining and keeping it and what really happens to those who are in lack of it.

Families are often lead by parents who do not want their children to worry about the finances.  It is such a strain upon the parents that they don't want their children to experience any of the stresses involved.  Many parents are so set on ensuring that their children do not go through what they went through as a child and that their children do not lack for anything or have to think about money, that they find the years have passed and they have never taught their children anything about money.

I would have to say that when I started thinking about and researching this topic, I myself have been greatly at fault in this area.  The concept that a parent's children ought to be involved in financial matters of the home was foreign to me, but it makes a great deal of sense and I would say is excellent advice, which I have only just received through my research.  As a side point, this is just one example of what a wonderful learning experience researching for the purpose of writing articles is.  I know that a great deal of my reading audience is comprised of other writers and I am certain that you out there must agree with how beneficial this experience of researching and writing articles can be for the educational part of it alone.

Who out there who has suffered financial strain and stress does not wish that they had learned much, much more as a child?  It is not only basic or brief exposure to monetary matters that is required to satisfy this educational need.

Money is a huge part of everyone's life, whether we want it to be or not.  Therefore, since we have to live the life of dealing with money every single day, it must be one of the large pieces of training that we do need to consistently provide our children with as they grow and learn.

Children may begin learning these sorts of lessons at a very young age, but then they are bombarded with so many other lessons in life that what they have learned as small ones, may fall to the wayside in their minds if these lessons are not brought up continuously throughout all of their childhood years.

Parents must find ways to train their children about credit, money management and savings, and especially what the consequences are of failing to live a certain way can definitely be.

We cannot be around to hold our children's hands through every experience in their entire lifetime and to be responsible parents, we need to train our children to be responsible money managers.  This is essential in providing them with the opportunity to really reach and exceed their potentials in life.  (potential is an open-ended thing.....)

Very true. I'm forever greatful that my mom didn't shy away from the topic.
