In today's world, kiddies just soon enough are dragged to schools to learn. In other words, Studying is important. The first kind knowledge forced into a kid's tender mind is study hard to be successful in life. Count your numbers, memorize the speech, correct your grammar, finish your project, publish your paper. Choose and be. Businessmen, Lawyers, Doctors, Engineers, Journalists and what not ... the list is vast. Compete with peers, challenge you rivals, win victories and you will be RICH and FAME. No matter how well we argue we can never conclude on whether all the above are not the ones which are the most important in life. Children create a feeling that we go to school so that one day we would be successful in a profession and so be rich. Rich means fame. Fame means glory.

But is this what education means ? Is this what we study for ? I think not. Education is a channel to know. To understand. To imagine. To create. We study to know things. Small details, large details. language, art, science, maths, history, Earth, universe whatever we had discovered for centuries.

Wouldn't it be great if we had been taught about metamorphosis by pointing out the beauty of a butterfly flying instead of talking about which part and section of the biology exam it would appear in. Wouldn't it great if history was taught as a bed time story. Wouldn't it be great if math was just a fun game we play and not an allergic algebra we curse.

If Education was to know, may be children would start liking it. Children would make sure to understand what they learn, ask if they dont understand. Enjoy to know than to score marks. It may happen that children might not skip through chapters as taught to choose smart what to study ample for to attend and answer all the questions in an exam. Children would hunger to learn about new things which they have never studies before. Just to know something would make us wonder about everything we learn.

Its not for the children to learn but the elders who had taught wrong. Education is just to know.
