Effective Google AdSense eCPM and CPC Tricks
72
Opening your Google AdSense account to find low-end earnings can be disappointing, especially when you don't know what to do about it. Why does some content bring more money than other content? In this hub we'll look at eCPM and CPC and tricks that you can use to optimize your Google AdSense revenue.
In your Google AdSense reports you'll see two columns, one titled Page CTR and one titled Page eCPM. By selecting the date range for the last week you'll be able to get a good overview of how your content is performing.
The most effective way to increase your overall Google AdSense earnings is essentially to maximize the number in both the columns - CTR and eCPM.
Maximizing CTR
CTR (Click-Through-Rate) is a rough representation of the percentage of people who clicked on the Google ads on your hubs. Generally a CTR between 2-4% is standard. If your total is below 2% you may be able to increase your earnings by increasing the amount of search engine traffic your hubs receive.
One way to increase your search engine traffic is to add appropriate "tags" to your hub pages. Tags generally create links from Hub Page category pages which attract a large amount of search engine traffic.
It's also a good idea to write on topics that rank highly in the search engines. This requires some research into what topics are already ranking well, which ones are too competitive, and which ones are worth working with.
Maximising eCPM
eCPM (Estimated Profits Per 1000 Impressions) is a number that estimates how much your hubs would make per 1000 views based on the existing click rate and CPC (money earned per click).
eCPM values can vary, but results below $4 may indicate that the actual topics you are writing about are just not profitable in the online market. If you change the type of topics you write about you will almost always notice a substantial change in the amount of money you make using Google AdSense. The amount will either drop or increase as you create hubs about varying topics.
The best topics have high eCPM results and can take a while to discover. The key here is that when you feel you are not earning enough, move on and try a different area to write about, it's always a good experiment unless you are consistently happy with your current results.
