What Is Network Marketing

Network marketing is really how business has been done for thousands of years in small villages and towns.  It is all about people doing business with you because there is a trust level involved.  In small towns people know who to trust in business and who is a scammer and it doesn't take long before word gets out about the unscrupulous business operator and he or she is run out of town.  The only people who stay in business are the ones who give value to their customers.  There is a transfer of product or service for a resulting payment of cash or services or products.  It needs to be a win-win solution or one party quickly runs out of people to scam and leaves town.

Network marketing follows the same idea.  You find a product or service that you believe in and you share it with your friends.  If they are interested in learning more then great you now can work on a business relationship.  If they are not interested, fine, just share it with another friend or acquaintance.  In order to build a long term business it does no good to hard sell people into buying your product or signing up for your business plan because they are not going to be happy.  They will tell all their friends about you and before you know it no one will answer your phone calls.

If you want to build a long term profitable business you must start with a product or service that really does solve a problem for people.  The key is to find something that almost sells itself because it is needed by your customers.  You can make some money ramming things down people's throats but thye won't do business with you a second time and they will definitely spread the word telling their friends and acquaitances that you are not to be trusted.

If you want to build an effective, long term network marketing business you must offer good value to your potential customers and build long term relationships.  If you don't you will be treated like the old snake oil salesmen and you will fail.  Lying and coersion is not a way to build a long term successful business.

Successful Network Marketing Leads Secret

There is one secret that you must know to be successful with a network marketing business. This is the key to everything when it comes to building a powerful downline. If you don't know this secret and you don't apply it you will have a much more difficult time trying to build your business.

The secret is you must have the right kinds of leads in order to get people for your business who will help skyrocket you to the top. The best kind of network marketing leads are what you need to get your business to the top. It took me a long time to realize this fact but when I did my network business really took off. When I first got into the business I thought the goal was to sign up as many people as possible. It was the old idea of throwing a bunch of stuff up on the wall and seeing what stuck. I contacted a lot of people and some of them even signed under me but none of them really wanted to put the work in to make their business, and my business, grow.

Then one day I happened upon a guy who was looking for an opportunity. I signed Bob up and it was like night and day. He started building his business, and in turn building mine, and before I knew what was happening I was actually making some money in network marketing. I had signed up a ton of people before but none of them had really done anything. I had to find out what was different about this guy.

After talking to Bob and the others in my downline I had an ah-ha moment. My great candidate was looking to build a business for himself. He realized that there is no free lunch and he would have to put the time in if he was going to become successful. He was willing to spend the time because he could see the potential. The other people I had signed were not business builders. They did not really want to put much time in. These people were really excited about cashing checks but there was no connection for them between the money and the work. In reality, they were looking for a get rich quick scheme.

I realized to get a successful network maketing business I would need to find more business builders, but how to spot them was the question. I looked back and realized the answer had been staring me in the face all along. When I first talked to Bob he wanted to know about the plan, about the product, about support, about the health and history of the company, and about the commission structure. He was interviewing me as much as I was interviewing him. Why? Because he understood there are a finite number of hours in your life and if you want to be successful you must use each one to its maximum potential. He was looking for a business.

Compare this to the other people I had signed. They didn't care about the product or the company or the support. The only thing they were interested in was how much money they could make. They wanted to get rich quick but they had no idea what it takes to get there and they didn't care to find out. These people will never build a lasting business because they will always be chasing the next big idea instead of sticking with one and building it out.
