Effective Pay Per Click Advertising
61How to effectively use pay per click
Many novice internet marketers make the mistake of choosing very general terms when they start out. While this will generate more traffic to your website, you will not be receiving quality traffic. As an advertiser, you want traffic that will convert into sales. Consider the many ways to make money online. You can become an affiliate, you can trade stocks, gamble, create your own etsy shop, sell goods on ebay. If you are marketing a product, you don't want only the general make money keyword.
Create longer keyword chains. For example, if you are marketing the product, wealthy affiliate, you want to consider as many relevant keywords as possible. You do not want to pay $.40 for a click by someone who is looking to make money online trading stocks if your product teaches them how to become an online marketer. They will not buy your product and you will have lost some of your advertising budget. You would chose keywords such as "make money as an internet marketer" or "make money affiliate marketing." Someone who choses the search term "make money internet marketing" or "make money as an affiliate" will be much closer to buying a product that is related to affiliate marketing. You want to reduce your advertising costs and generate quality traffic to your website. The best way to do that is to make sure your keyword terms are closely related and specific.
The easiest way to go about your research for your advertising is through Keyword Elite 2.0 or Wealthy Affiliate's keyword research tools. If you are on a limited budget, Google has a free keyword tool to use as well. You should start with a general search term. If you are marketing a product that teaches you how to pick stocks online, find all the relevant keywords. Often they can be found in the sales page of a clickbank product. If it is your own product, you will have to create them based on the content. Then eliminate all the keywords that do not apply to the product.
The major benefit of using a tool such as Keyword Elite 2.0 or wealthy affiliate is that it takes some of the guess work out. You can search for the niches that are hot right now and know which products are selling to maximize the chances of success. In minutes, you can find out what product will do well for you and what words that you should use to market the product.
Once you have found relevant, specific keywords, you need to create your ad group. Your ad group should contain from 5-15 keywords. The reason for this is that having an ad group with 20 or fewer keywords will allow you to target your ad with the keywords. Fewer keywords will create a highly relevant ad group. This technique will also increase your CTR (Click -Through Ratio). CTR is the ratio between the amount of times your ad is displayed (impressions) and the amount of times it is clicked (clicks). With a higher CTR, your ad is in a better position to sell your product and the less you will pay per click.
There are so many people creating information on the internet these days, pay per click advertising is a great way to get your website or advertisement to the top of search results and in front of buyers eyes. Relying soley on organic search results and popularity is not the best method for someone who wants instant results. However, paid advertising must be done correctly to convert to sales. Make sure you target the correct audience with specific, relevant keywords and you should be generating sales in no time.

Great post, a lot of new marketers jump in and try to out bid others for top positions on Google.I call it auction fever or PPC suicide , they soon lose tons of money and give up on PPC.
