It’s Election Fever everywhere! The first phase of polling of the 15th Lok Sabha elections commenced and here is some interesting facts about Elections:

7700 Metric Tonnes and 8800 Metric Tonnes of paper was used for printing ballot paper in General Elections, 1999 and 1996 respectively!

The Voter Turnout in the 1^st Lok Sabha Elections held in the year 1952 was 61.22% whereas in the 14^th Lok Sabha Elections held in the year 2004, the voter turnout was 57.65%. Is mass education and awareness about elections really producing any results?
