Here I go again branching out into unfamiliar territory.  No, I don't mean women.  This time I am tackling technology.

This from a man who just recently got a hand-me-down cell phone, doesn't own a fax machine, doesn't have a (working) printer or scanner, doesn't believe in ipods, until recently thought "Blue Ray" was the name of a new comic book character and owns a computer system that was cobbled together from contributions from others.  (I am a bit like Blanche from "Streetcar Named Desire".  I rely on the kindness of strangers. That's a literary reference.  It was a movie, too.  Come on, you guys got that, didn't you? Is it out on DVD yet?  A lof of good movies aren't.  But I digress. . .)

Here is a plain-looking site that seems to offer some good information. . .at least to people like me.

Datastorit.com is an unassuming albeit significant site about computer data storage. Whether it is the storage of medical records, student term papers or corporate employee files this site covers it.

One important article here concerns the system backup. People as well as companies need to back up their files in case of emergency.

These programs collect and store data on a daily basis and can save the information in a remotebackup system.

In fact, according to the author of this post there are many backup systems that work automatically. The user doesn’t ever need to remember to save information to the software. This can be extremely valuable to people

and businesses too busy to do it themselves.

The piece notes that some companies have gone under because they have not had the proper programs for this purpose. In fact, these programs are not only valuable but also reasonably priced.

So there you have it. My first bit of research into a technological site. Check it out and let me know what you think.

As always,

My name is Phoenix and. . .that's the bottom line.
