What is the one thing that makes people read your content and then take that next step to actually either buying your product or maybe even clicking on your add ?

It's often not what you write, but how you write it - especially on the Internet.

Let's be honest, people on the Internet are so used to jumping from page to page and just scanning. If something jumps out at them, they'll stay a bit longer and actually read what you have to say.

I hate to say this, but most of what's on the Internet is boring. We want entertainment, something to keep us riveted to our PC screens and that tickles our fancy.

To make a long story short, you have to write as if you're writing to a single person that's a close friend. Look at your emails and compare it to how you write for online publication. One of the biggest mistakes we often make is to write for the masses.

Don't... That's Boring

Write it as if you're talking to somebody you know. Add some personality. Just go look at the blogs that you read daily. You'll often find them filled with emotion. Sometimes it makes you sad, sometimes it makes you happy.

And that's what you're aiming for when writing. The better you are at doing this, the better your readership base becomes.

The bottom line is, I'm still learning.

I could go on and on, but the fact of the matter is, is that my copy is often on the boring side, and I battle to plug into emotion. People that natuarlly do this, often have a hand up on me, as they can write gripping copy.

The fact of the matter is, Web 2.0 has made it easy for the average Joe and Jane to create links to your pages. I like this page, let me Digg.it and maybe send it to my friends.

That wasn't possible a few years ago, and it was really difficult to get normal web users to link to you. Today, it's just a click of a button, and you've got a link. And each link you get, is potential for more traffic.

This is powerfull stuff... and it will ensure that more people see it and bookmark it.

Just look at what I've done now. I found an interesting ebook, with great tips in it. What do I do, I write a hub on it, so that I can share it with you. If this e-book was boring, I wouldn't waste my or your time.
