Electronic Store Credit Cards

Best Buy and Circuit City two of the biggest electronic stores both offer a credit card, and just like the stores themselves their credit cards aren't the same.
Although on the surface they may seem similar; they both give you gift certificates as the only reward benefit. They differ on how you can accumulate points.
The Circuit City Rewards Visa card lets you earn five points per dollar spent in store and one point for purchases made everywhere else. Once you reach five hundred total points you can exchange them for a gift certificate worth five dollars. So far so good, right? Well this is where the Circuit City card starts to hit the rough. Their gift certificate is only valid for thirtysix months after requesting it, and is only good for one purchase. That means if you buy something less than five dollars you are surrendering the rest of the money on the gift card.
On the other hand we have the Best Buy Rewards Zone MasterCard. With this card you earn four points per dollar spent at Best Buy, two points for shopping at restraunts and grocery stores, and one point on everything else. At two hundred and fifty points you can receive a gift card worth five bucks. But the gift card expires in six months so make sure you spend them quickly.
Both cards have an extremely high interest rate, above nineteen percent even if you have the best credit possible.
If you really like Best Buy I recommend that card since you earn rewards almost twice as fast as the Circuit City counterpart.
