It's especially important for the adolescents going through school to not be isolated more than they already are with this terrible skin affliction. But despite the psychological effects of acne, not many turn to professional help to solve their problems.
Some of the psychological tolls that acne can take on the body are lowered self-image, depression, feelings of hopelessness and inadequacy, social awkwardness, and many others. Eight out of ten teens experience acne to some degree in their adolescence, and even adults too. It is not a condition that is isolated to only the youngsters, it can hit at any age whatsoever, despite popular belief.
