Email Marketing and Blasts
55Email Marketing
Email marketing has become one of the biggest and most important ways of marketing on the internet.
Email marketing has possibly one of the best selling rates going and is the best way to get your message out an read. When analysing web-site trends, a global trend is that 75 to 85% of visitors to any site spend less than 30 seconds on the site.
A web site takes hours and hours to create and then thereafter takes literally hundreds of hours to promote and get traffic coming to the site. All of this for 85% of your visitors to leave within 30 seconds. The chances are that with emails they are at least read. This means that your email message gets out and is absorbed by most people who open the email.
Why do people read an email and not a web site? Well simple - it has to do with our deep down vanities. An email is something that has been sent to the reader personally and a sense of importance is often asociated with receiving an email. It says I am important because someone sent me something personally. A web site is just something that you browse over, it is nothing personal and is far easier to click away from than a personal email.
There are two email marketing methods.
1) Building a list. This is the best way to go about email marketing. It involves getting email details from as many people as possible that visit your site. The problem is that to build a list you need the traffic first.Should you wish to build a list of 1000 people the sum would be something like this. 85% do not read the site. Of the remaining 15 % only on third will actually be interested in the site. (5%) Of these only half would maybe be interested in committing their email address if your techniques are very good. In other words less than 2.5% would give an email adress. To build your list to 1000 you will need at least 40 000 visitors to your interesting site. While this method does build good quality email marketing, the problem is to first get the 40 000 visitors.
2) Join an email marketing list. There are quite a few programmes where you are able to join email marketing Lists. Some are monthly membership fees and some are lifetime membership fees which enable you to send your email to all of their members on their lists. Some lists have as many as 2.7 million members and you are allowed to send one email per day to all 2.7 million members. That you means you effectively send approx 81 million emails a month. The sales conversion on these lists is less than option 1 above but you start to get your sales a lot quicker. Even if sales conversions are one tenth of the conversions obtained in option 1, you are still far better off with this option.
The biggest tip with this type of email is to make your header short and eye catching. Many of these mails end up in a bulk email program where the receiver quickly scans the message titles before deleting. An eye catching title that is not half cut off because it is too long, will cause the reader to stop and have a look.
There are currently three very big lists that are affordable and that I can recommend.
1) TargetPro Blaster. The best value for money. A mere $10 for lifetime membership. Email for lifetime to up to 50 million people. Well worth the 10 bucks.
2) Blast 4 Traffic :This programme has 2.3 million contacts that you can email once per day for the small once off fee of $34-95. The programme offers very professional looking emails and free software to create beautiful and eye catching messages. Their clients include Amazon.com
3) Web Traffic Marketing. Although web traffic marketing does have a larger member base which sits at 2.7 million, it is more expensive and offers less value than Traffic Swarm. Web Traffic Marketing costs $39-95. Click here to view.
Email marketing is definitely the best way to get your message out, whether it is to directly sell your product or to get people to visit your site. I personally use TargetPro and Blast 4 traffic with great success.
