For a start, you must always define the purpose of your email advertising campaign. You can start an email ad campaign to promote your products or services or simply publicize some of the events you are planning to organize. The other thing that you need to identify is the target group for your campaign. Once all this is in place, you can start looking for a service. Most major online marketing companies offer very quick automated email services. Using such services will save you a considerable amount of time and you can focus on other aspects of your business. Email software keeps track of your entire campaign, to the extent that they can give you timely updates and analyze the progress your email ad campaign is making.

You should make sure that you have the permission of your prospective clients to send them emails. If not, there is a very strong chance that your email advertising campaign will be dubbed as spam. As a result you will lose credibility in the eyes of your customers. The other thing you must be careful about is the content of your email advertisement campaign. You must send out relevant content. The email should be balanced between your sales pitch and relevant information.

Email advertising campaigns should follow a specific schedule. Sending out one such email in a month is a good idea. Sending emails on a daily basis or once in a week may become too much for a client to handle. Sending it once in three months might be too infrequent. The clients may forget what you had spoken of in your previous email. Hence, finding the correct time and frequency is essential to conduct email campaigns.

The other aspect you must take into consideration is the legal framework. If you are based in America and adhere to the parameters set by the CAN SPAM act then you need not worry about the legal side of things. The CAN SPAM act has laid down penalties to all those email marketers who abuse email advertising campaigns. To be on the right side of the law, always incorporate an opt-out link in your email. If clients do not wish to be a part of your email campaign, then they should be given a way to get out. If you are able to get the permission of your readers then you should send relevant content through your email advertising campaign.

You must take the factors mentioned above into consideration before you start your email advertising campaign.
