1. Create a punchy, action-oriented and time restricted email subject
Besides making the subject relevant to your target audience, it is also important to instill a sense of urgency or importance. It is very important for you to make your reader feel special or perhaps make them feel important by telling them that they have been selected as a part of an exclusive group. You also have to set a specific time and date range for the sale to encourage the reader open your email message right away. Always remember that the email subject in your email marketingcampaign is the first thing that a reader sees. One other thing you need to remember is to always put an identifiable person or company in the “from” line of your message because this will increase the chances of your email being read by the recipient.
2. Use gorgeous graphics
Now that your tempting subject line lures a potential customer to open the email, do not lose the sale by using ugly or irrelevant graphics. Although, text is of course, still very important. It is very important to always keep in mind that text heavy emails with no graphics tend to ask for intense concentration from the reader which drastically decreases the chance of your email being read in full. Always remember that most people don’t want to read long emails and prefer to read short ones. Using nice graphics adds life to it and makes it more attractive and irresistible to the recipient.
3. Spam-Free zone
Always remember the rules in sending out marketing emails. One basic rule that you should never forget is, do not be misleading. Make sure that your subject and from line are accurate. It is imperative that you do not use spam-linked words in the subject line. Avoid using the word “free” or using a lot of exclamation points. The email program’s spam filters are gauged to pick up these types of words and your customers will not like it either. Another basic rule you need to remember is to always provide an opt-out option and steps on how to unsubscribe from your opt-in mailing list. This is important for you to have in each of your emails because this will encourage the recipient to read and participate in your email, as it builds trust.
4. Avoid sending emails at certain times
You need to put yourself in the recipient’s shoe and imagine that it’s Monday morning and an average working person arrives at the office and turns on the computer. By the time the person opens up his email, you can only imagine how many unread messages he has in his inbox. If you have sent your email campaign over the weekend, chances are your email will be deleted right away as a person is most likely to read and open the most important emails and disregard the rest. The scenario is the same for Friday afternoon as people are getting ready for the weekend and wouldn’t be that excited to read your email campaign. It is very important to have the right timing in sending out your emails and the best days for you to do so are Tuesdays and Wednesdays mid-morning or mid-afternoon. This will allow your recipients to concentrate more on reading your emails because the chances of the reader of being distracted are slim.
5. No frivolous emails
To ensure that your email campaigns are opened and responded to, you need to pay close attention to what information you are sharing in your emails. Avoid sending out unnecessary information especially if you’re sending it weekly for this will result to people losing interest in your mailing list. If you want to send relevant and infrequent emails, the best way for you to go is to send out email newsletters instead. This will give you a much better result because people tend to get peeved when they open their inbox and get 15+ emails from one company over a week span.
Always keep in mind that nothing in life is a guarantee. However, if you use these 5 simple and effective strategies, you are more likely to launch a successful email campaign.
