The advent of video emails has taken email marketing to a new level. However, many companies and marketers are still not sure how to use this new variant to good effect. You have several options at your disposal when you include videos in your email newsletters. However, you should know which of these are the most effective and may assist your cause. From the perspective of your audience, many people prefer the audio/visual medium over reading. So, how can you use videos in an email campaign effectively? By doing the following:

Supplying relevant videos

The videos you use must be relevant. To ensure this, you must be clear about the objective of the campaign. Relevance of videos also depends on your target audience. Like the regular newsletter, you can supply testimonials, product reviews or demonstrations, some general tips that they may find useful in their daily routine. Apart from this, you can incorporate a thank you message for having subscribed to your newsletter.

Making the viewing process user-friendly

Since video email marketing is completely new, your clients may not know how to use it. It would be a mistake on your part to assume they know how to use the videos. You don’t have to send a video player embedded in the email to your customers. Many marketers add an image of the video in the email. Once subscribers click on it, they are taken to another site, where they can see the whole video. You should also be careful about the duration of the videos. Obviously, there is no fixed rule for duration but it is better if the videos are 10-12 minutes.

Expanding your video selection process

As mentioned above, you should supply your clients with relevant videos. However, you can expand the range from which you select them. Apart from the video that promotes your products or services, you can include a video for entertainment reasons. For instance, it may be a good idea to include a song that no longer comes on TV or radio etc. Basically, your aim should be to capture the attention of your subscribers. Try to impress them in a way that they look forward to hearing from you, on a regular basis.

A number of companies add videos to their email newsletters because it is a great way to interact with customers, keep their attention captured and most importantly, promote products or services.
