In everyday life we sometimes get mired down in the mundane monotony of life. Cleaning, Shopping and the things that need to get done. Annie Dillard Said, "How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives." In order to grow and reach out potential we need to engage in the activities and the state of mind that nurture our spirit. What are you passionate about? What would you do even if you didn't get paid to do it? This is what makes us feel fulfilled, and creates happiness in our lives. Are you happy? You have a choice - State your intent to make today better than the status quo. Get up early have a great breakfast, talk and laugh with you kids/loved ones. Take a break at lunch exercise or socialize but whatever you do take time out for yourself.
When was the last time that you engaged in activity that filled you with joy. I believe that if we engage in joyful activities that this joy will spill over into the other areas of our life and leave us feeling happy and fulfilled.
On the other hand if we do not take time to engage in joyful activities our lives can become overshadowed by the mundane.
Seek and ye shall find
Look for ways in everyday life to find enjoyment. Passionate about cooking but you get home late from work and are unable to put together more than a microwave meal. Come up with creative ideas for lunch or try ways to create a gourmet meal in 30 minutes or under.
The idea is to define what is important to you (all the rest in noise)
- Come up with ways to engage in activities that involve these items.
- Have a vision of what you want your life to be
- Make progress towards this vision every day
- Take time to appreciate this
- Recognize your achievements and don't beat yourself for your "failures" learn from them
