Emo Moment
57On School
Since the worldwide merging of emo has been corporealized, I decided to be one of them. I'm sure I am emo by the way I look up to things. My passion to emo songs back then. In my private school, emo has been a helping tool to fit in to the crowd since almost all of them are into emo stuff. Most of them are guys like me who had long one-sided hair and wears black clothes with tight-fitting jeans. The girls are wearing thick eyeliners and wears the traditional black clothes too. I became conciously aware that it is fast generating. I study in the Philippines and I really can say that we are into it. As for the whole, "emolution" has come to our school.
Over the Media
Whether its internet, television, radio and most particularly, the music scene, emo has been spreading like a virus ready to be inhaled by the curious people about it. Debates have been popularly done on what is emo all about. Is it a trend, a style, or is it really a person's personality. I really like My Chemical Romance's songs. Although they do not want their music to be classified as emo, I strongly believe that their songs really watered down the roots of the origin of emo. The songs tackle about suicides, particularly youth suicides. On the internet, emo has been battled over. Some emo haters say that emo people are gay, which are I strongly believe not. This ended up to heated conversations, mostly by youtubers as I read some of their comments. In our local television, news said that parents are becoming alarmed that their emo sons and daughters were into affiliate with a cult. A Filipino psychologist said that parents should not worry because the emo thing is just an expression. The music industry produce more emo related songs to gain more profit. The songs are rock based yet the lyrics are sad. Media captured the emo revolution.
What's next?
The emo trend has been growing and many questions it future evolution. As for me, emo will stay in me and will treasure it since it reflects my personality and individuality.
