Fear

This story is set in a forest. There was a saint who always sat under a tree meditating in this forest. His only companion was his dog. One day when he came out of his meditation and opened his eyes, he saw his dog crying. He asked the reason for its grief. It said it went a little deeper into the forest and saw a fox. Luckily, it was able to get out of the place unnoticed and returned safe. Nevertheless, it kept on worrying that the fox would kill it one day.

The saint using his powers turned the dog into a fox. It thanked the saint and continued to live happily. After a few days it came back crying again, this time it was scared of a tiger. The saint therefore turned the fox into a tiger. It came again after a few days being afraid of a lion. Once again he changed it into a lion hoping it would be happy being the king of the jungle.

The lion suddenly jumped upon the saint attempting to kill him. The saint managed to escape from its attack and asked it why it did so. It told the saint that it was scared that the saint might change some other crying dog into a bigger lion. The saint laughed and changed it into a dog once again.

Moral; there is no end to fear if you are weak hearted.

Never give anyone a status, which he/she does not deserve.

Love the dog and the view. The insight is pretty great too. Wonderful story.
