English Mastiff collars are always a hard thing to find! I know that for my English Mastiff finding a collar when he was a puppy was very easy to do because all that I had to find was some of the collars that measured 26 inches and those fit him perfectly fine. That was until he decided to hit a growth spurt around the time he turned one. Once he hit the age of one I had a challenge in finding my English Mastiff a collar. I know that you will have a wide variety of English Mastiff collars to choose from when you are looking for a collar and here are some of the types that I have used in the past and still use some of them to some extent.

The first type of collar that I found for my English Mastiff was a normal cloth style of collar. Now for him this worked out really well, but if you are considering using a cloth style or nylon type of collar for your English Mastiff you will want to make sure that you use a collar that is not going to be able to tore in half. I know that for my English Mastiff since he is such a powerhouse and able to drag me in the backyard if he wanted to know this from experience. So you will want to choose one that is thick enough to provide quite a bit of strength in the collar. I know that the collar that my English Mastiff has on now is about an inch wide which really helps prevent him from breaking the collar.

The second type of collar that my English Mastiff has worn in the past is a pinch collar. Now the pinch style of collar works out really well if you are training them. Because they are so stubborn they normally do not listen that well at first. However, when my English Mastiff was wearing the pinch collar he listened really well and he knew that it was time to go to work. Which was very nice because then he was one of the easiest dogs to handle when he knew that it was time to behave. So if you are working on training your dog you will want to consider using a pinch style collar for training purposes. However, you will want to make sure that you find a properly sized pinch collar because they can be damaging so you will want to make sure that you have a professional help you size your dog for this type of collar.

The third type of collar that I have used on my English Mastiff was a choker style of collar. I know that this style only goes up to a limited size, but I no longer use the choker collars because of a bad experience that I had previously with one of my other dogs. However, if you do use a choker collar for your English Mastiff you will want to keep a close eye on how large your Mastiff's neck is getting because they can quickly outgrow these collars which can then start choking them. So you will want to make sure that you keep a close eye on any dog that you have wearing a choker chain.

Finding a collar for your English Mastiff can be difficult because their neck gets so large, but it is possible. I have found that the nylon style collars work best for every day wear for your dog. However, they can get expensive when you are looking for one that will fit your Mastiff, but if you check at some of the local dog training facilities they typically have the collars at a very reasonable price. The pinch style collars are great for training purposes, but I would only use them for training, and the choker chains I do not even use anymore because my Mastiff was growing so fast that he outgrew them and because of a bad experience.
