Watch English Premier League Live Online

Once again the new English Premier League season dawns on us and it will be another one that fans will be eagerly anticipating and keeping their eyes glued on their PCs as they keep up with the action and watch the various English Premiership live online streaming matches. Some might say that English football is extremely boring, considering how the same four teams have been dominating the league for years - Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal. However, if these fans were to keep up with the news recently, there might be more excitement ahead for them in the shape of teams rising to the challenge and threatening to break up the established order. These include the two teams that have been more prominent beyond the Big Four - Aston Villa and Everton, while another two from Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City could also shake things up a little.

Of the four, Manchester City will have the most attention paid to them in this season of live English Premier League online schedule. The club is now flushed with cash and have flexed their newfound financial muscle by snapping up all the top players that are willing to sacrific success in the short term for money. This has led to many to question the club's ability to get any significant result on the field. It will now have to come down to Mark Hughes' managerial competence in getting the best out of his players, motivating them to perform despite guaranteed large pay packages. However, it might be a long while yet before they can reach the levels shown consistently by Liverpool and Manchester United in consistent domestic success without the need to splash the cash.

What else will be in store for the new 2009/2010 season of the English Premiership? There were suggestions floated about a possible 39th game that could be played outside England, but the 20 clubs have all turned down the proposal, stating the ridiculous nature of it. The players already face crowded fixture lists every year, and traveling halfway across the world to play a single English Premiership live stream match might be financially captivating, but it could lead to both short term and long term damages to players such as injuries. The latter would also take longer to heal due to extended plane trips and such. It was interesting to note that even Manchester United and Liverpool turned down the idea, as both are constantly looking for new ways to finance the club in order to compete with the European football elite.

With EPL live streaming, fans from all over the world would not need a 39th game in order to see their favorite teams live in action. Obviously it would never be the same as being in the stadiums personally, but that should be done by saving up for actual match tickets say for a trip to Old Trafford, Anfield, the Emirates Stadium or any of the other 20 stadiums in which teams like Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea and even Hull City would play in from week to week. There is still much to be had from catching the games online as shown during the recent CONCACAF Gold Cup live streams, and it would certainly be better than just listening to live radio commentary which is still consistently available through the BBC World channels and stations, although most of it is restricted to certain parts of the world. At the end of the day, there is no denying that the passion emanating from the stadiums, fans, players and sounds of hard crunching tackles can be heard and felt through the various soundbytes heard when you watch the Premiership online.

My pick for the probable English Premier League champions for season 2009/2010 would be Manchester United again. Chelsea will come a close second while Liverpool should make up the top trio. While I would like to see the Anfield Reds continue to return to prominence, it is clear that the season would probably be one of transition. The loss of Xabi Alonso is a potentially major one unless one of the other players can fill his void. Unfortunately none of them are in the same mold as the Spanish midfielder. If Benitez can tweak his system and play to the strengths of his remaining squad, then they could surprise more than a few people, including Sir Alex Ferguson who has mischieviously written them off in preseason. How the season will eventually unfold as one sits back to watch the Premiership soccer games online, nobody knows. But one thing is for sure - no other league in the world can consistently produce such high drama and excitement as the one that is home to English football.

Ahead of the first day of the season (with the fixtures listed below), there is some cheer for the long suffering Liverpool fans - it has been announced that Fernando Torres has signed a new contract that will keep him till 2013. Obviously most players never fulfill their contracts, but the boy looks like a faithful one. Now Liverpool will need him to stay fit in order to mount a strong live English Premier League campaign.

English Premiership Day In Review

Wow who would have thought that everyone's favorite to drop out of the top four, Arsenal, would start in such style? The Gunners outplayed and sent Everton packing (on their short trip) home with a 6-1 drubbing at Goodison Park. Can Arsene Wenger's boys continue in the same form for most of the rest of the season? They did play great football as always but you wonder what might happen if the players pick up injuries, which was also the cause for their inconsistencies last season. Chelsea also started with a win but it was quite fortunate and it doesn't look like anybody can change the way they play (Mourinho style) unless most of the entire squad is overhauled. Now let's see what Manchester United and Liverpool can do the next day.

8/16/2009

Manchester United weren't at their best but they never disappoint in terms of their results. They made it look harder than it actually was but in the end still came through unscathed against Birmingham City. Rooney is definitely their key man this season and his goal showed his quality that the club will need in the absence of Ronaldo. Their closest challengers last season were a bust however. Liverpool looked very poor and on this account they could even have trouble finishing the Champions League qualifying spots. Benitez has a lot of work ahead of him and from being the most entertaining attacking team last season, Liverpool looked out of sorts, disjointed, off color and really non contenders all round. Now they face a must win fixture against Stoke City on Wednesday. Remember they drew there last season against the same team!

The games have not kicked off yet but I wonder if Sunderland can burst Chelsea's bubble today, especially since it hasn't looked quite as strong and ready to burst like the US housing bubble. The other game between Wigan and Wolves could be the more entertaining one as I caught highlights of Wigan's game the other day and they were really as good as some of the reports have claimed them to be!

Wow what a reply by Chelsea! Storming back from a goal down to beat Sunderland 3-1 - more signs that they continue to be one of the toughest teams to beat or even draw with. Interesting to see that Deco appears to be back in favour and Ancelotti might really know a thing or two about getting the best out of his players. Martinez on the other hand failed to live up to expectations as his Wigan crashed at home to Wolves. Might want to make sure he gets more consistent results first or become the next Phil Brown?

What an amazing start to the new EPL season! It is obvious that the big teams are in some trouble this time after having lost important players. Manchester United was the next one to suffer a shock when they lost to Burnley today. I thought it was a mistake to play Michael Owen from the start. Without his pace he cannot get into positions as well as he did. Liverpool bounced back with a good reply but it could have been the same last season - they took their chances better this time. Spurs are looking like potential title contenders this time - seriously. Another good win and the players are responding well to Harry Redknapp. Cannot wait for this weekend to start!

8/29/2009

I'll be eagerly seeing what happens in the Manchester United vs Arsenal live stream as the title could be at stake for both teams. Man Utd are doing what they usually do - and that is to give themselves a whole bunch of problems at the start of a season before making winning the title look like child's play after Christmas. Arsenal have been the most impressive, other than Spurs. But this is not unlike what happened last season before they faded badly. So it's more a case of them having to prove themselves again this time.

Thankfully I got to watch live English Premier League online because there were two fantastic games yesterday. First, Bolton really pushed Liverpool all the way and were very unlucky to lose 3-2. The turning point came when they had Steve Davies sent off. Silly challenge from behind and the boy should have known it was coming - referees nowadays do not tolerate tackles from the back and though Lucas made the most of it, there was little the ref could do apart from sending Davies off. Gerrard and Torres finally came alive after that, in particular Torres, who showed his great touch and control many times in the penalty area. This boy is really something special, but he needs to show more of it if Liverpool are to benefit. The next game was the headliner Man Utd vs Arsenal. Tentative start that came to life once Arshavin smashed the first goal into the roof of the net. Breathless left me. Unfortunately for the Gunners, they had no luck and a really great effort left them with nothing. Rooney and an own goal by Diaby handed Arsenal their first defeat and the result really benefits Chelsea the most. Spurs also kept pace but somehow you know they will falter in a few months' time. Now it's over to Manchester City on Sunday and I'll be keeping an eye on Everton - Distin has been signed and they should be able to recover now.

9/12/2009

Biggest matches of the weekend would appear to be Manchester City hosting Arsenal while Spurs will have their first real test against Manchester United who are reigning champions. More to come after the games but I believe that with the really thin squad that Arsene Wenger has at his disposal, the cracks are already starting to appear. It was the same situation last season and remember they still had Toure and Adebayor then (although both were also out for extended periods of time). This time Arshavin is out and they lose a player who can spot passes and score more often than Fabregas. If the latter gets injured as well, woe befall the Gunners. Spurs can surely do better this time against United, but the Red Devils have been their jinx team for many seasons now. This time however, the champions' jinx is at Spurs - Harry Redknapp. Who's gonna break first?

9/19/2009 - 9/20/2009

The biggest game of the weekend must surely be the Manchester derby between United and City. Will be looking forward to it especially as the war of words between the two clubs has continually been stoked by players and managers. The latest volley was issued by Alex Ferguson who said Carlos Tevez would be in for a surprising welcome. Quite what it will be is anybody's guess. But there should surely be a red hot atmosphere and reception between the current champions and the pretenders. Another game of note would be the Chelsea and Spurs Sunday night match. Spurs will have their second big test in a week. They failed against United last week, will they now beat Chelsea? Liverpool also has a tough trip to West Ham where they have not always done well in terms of winning. Let's see how their recovery goes.
