English topics for school kids and students

   I've noticed that on HubPages there are a lot of people for whom English is not a native language; frankly speaking I'm one of such people.

   My native language is Russian, I also learn French as a second language but my first foreign language is the English language. I've devoted many years to learning this language. I started to learn English at school and then continued to learn it at the university. I really like this language and learning English is a kind of hobby, it's what I really like and what brings me pleasure. I'm a future interpreter.

   As I've said before I study English for many years and during all these years I was writing different grammar notes, I made small dictionaries, developed various ways to remember new words and facilitate the process of learning the language (I've devoted my last hub "Keywords for foreign language learning" to this topic) and certainly during all these years I was writing different oral English topics like ABOUT MYSELF, MY FAMILY or MY FRIEND. And one day when I got up early in the morning I understood that I can share it with other people, especially with those who are at school and who really need my topics.

   That day I started my work over my own site for which I ordered a domain englishtopics.net. All the topics that I had, I divided into several categories:

  • Basic topics for beginners;
  • Basic topics of heightened level;
  • Economic topics in English.

   So here one can find a topic according to his or her level of knowledge, interests and needs.

   The content of the site is not full yet and I add new topics to this site all the time I have spare minutes and opportunity to do it. People say in their comments that my site really helps them and I'm glad that it's so.

   I'm planning to develop my English topics site; but even now on my site one can find besides different topics audio books, multimedia courses, ask me to write a topic special for them and the last function that I added to the site was an opportunity to add your own topic to this site, so visitors can share their topics if they want.

   In my plans I have an idea to create a special site the aim of which is to help foreigners to learn Russian. I know that Russian is a quite difficult language for Europeans but nevertheless a lot of them study it. And I think that this site could really help them. But that is only my desire and plan for the future and now I work under my site with topics in English. I decided to write about it here because on HubPages there are a lot of people for whom English is not a language they've been spoken since their childhood and I hope that maybe for some of them my site can be useful.

   So good luck in learning the English language and other foreign languages!

Hello, Gennifer. I'm just getting to know you now and so far, I like the way you think and the goals that you've set. I too am a foreigner (a "farang" in my language) who came to the United States very early in life. I speak Lao fluently and speak a little Thai and French (not so good). Your English is spot-on, by the way.

I enjoyed reading your hub as I can see that you are a natural educator. I graduated college a couple of years ago and majored in Creative Writing, but I don't want to teach it until I've exhausted my dream of publishing.

I wish you good luck in your last year and look forward to hearing from you.

Best wishes,

Dohn

If you had not said anything I would have believed that English is your first language. You are very good, your writing is as good or better in some cases than some of those that have English as a first language. Keep up the good work.

Thanks a lot, it's very pleasant to hear such a compliment, but I know that I still need to improve my English. I practise everyday and hope for success... =)

Thanks a lot!

It's a pity that your writing and spelling are poor. But I think if you decide to change the situation, you'll definitely cope with it... ;) Good luck, sly751!
