Enhanced Green Tea Keeps You Healthy and Trim

Green Tea is a product that has been growing in popularity for a couple years now. Typical of ancient herbs from the Chinese culture, Green Tea is loaded with healthy nutrients like antioxidants that will give you energy, assist with weight loss, and fight a number of diseases. Just 1 serving of Enhanced Green Tea contains as much nutrients as 1 gallon of brewed green tea.

Your Health and Green Tea

To maintain a good quality of life, we must make our health a top priority. Through a balance of exercise, diet, rest, and green tea, we can protect ourselves from nasty diseases and illnesses by boosting our immune system.

The secret of green tea lies in its concentration of vitamin E and catechin polyphenols, particularly epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). EGCG is a powerful anti-oxidant. Besides inhibiting the growth of cancer cells, it kills cancer cells without harming healthy tissue.

EGCG has also been effective in lowering LDL cholesterol levels, and inhibiting the abnormal formation of blood clots. The latter takes on added importance when you consider that thrombosis (the formation of abnormal blood clots) is the leading cause of heart attacks and stroke.

Green tea combats:

  • Free Radicals
  • Cancer
  • Viral Infections
  • Harmful Bacterial

  • Digestive Problems
  • Cardiovascular Disease
  • Rheumatoid Arthritis
  • High Blood Sugar
  • Blood Clotting Disorders
  • Even cavities and tooth decay!

The nutrients in green tea work together to repair damaged tissue and slow the aging process. Clinical studies have shown that catechins, which are prevalent in green tea, destroy free radicals and effect the entire body in a positive way.

Weight Loss and Green Tea

Studies suggest that green tea extract may boost metabolism and help burn fat. One study confirmed that the combination of green tea and caffeine improved weight loss and maintenance in overweight and moderately obese individuals. Some researchers speculate that substances in green tea known as polyphenols, specifically the catechins, are responsible for the herb's fat-burning effect.

So, is Green tea good for weight loss?

The answer is yes, and now I'd like to tell you why. The benefits of green tea are numerous. In fact, if you were to go to PubMed.com and do a search for green tea, you'd find over 2,000 studies performed on green tea and its components (eg, EGCG, theanine, vitamin E, etc...).

Possible benefits are being investigated for weight loss, cancer prevention, antioxidant activity, cognitive enhancement, general good health and well being... and the list goes on and on.

So, why is green tea good for weight loss?

First of all, green tea extract is a source of caffeine, which is a decent fat burner on its own with a well-established track record. But, if that's all green tea did, this would be a pretty short lens.

Fortunately, it provides additional benefits beyond what plain caffeine can do. Green tea is a powerful anti-oxidant just like vitamin C and beta-carotene, but researchers have suggested that the active ingredient EGCG may be up to 200 times more powerful than vitamin E as an antioxidant.

But wait, there's more...

Green tea may be useful as a glucose regulator -- meaning it slows the rise in blood sugar following a meal.

It does this by slowing the action of a particular digestive enzyme called amylase. This enzyme is pivotal in the breakdown of starches (carbs), that can cause blood sugar levels to soar following a meal. The facts leads us to believe that along with chromium, and possibly vanadyl supplement, green tea might be the missing link in proper glucose management.

Green tea has also helped aid weight loss by increasing the metabolic rate, causing those who use it to burn more calories. A recent study further validates green tea's effectiveness. Published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, it indicated the ingestion of a tea rich in catechins leads to both a lowering of bodyfat and of cholesterol levels. Enhanced Green Tea has an extremely high concentration of catechins.

Additionally, green tea may inhibit fatty acid synthase, which is an enzymatic system that is involved in the process of turning carbohydrates into fat. Early animal studies suggest the inhibition of fatty acid synthase can lead to dramatic weight loss.

There's also evidence that consuming green tea high in catechins reduces cardiovascular risks in addition to reducing body fat, as well as lowering LDL (bad) cholesterol and triglyceride levels.

In short, green tea's weight loss benefits are a result of several mechanisms.

The fact is, Enhanced Green Tea burns fat naturally and increases metabolism. The antioxidant compounds in green tea work with other nutrients to increase levels of fat oxidation and thermogenesis, where heat is created in the body by burning fuels such as fat. For effective weight loss it helps to take Enhanced Green Tea regularly to increase your metabolism and help burn fat safely and naturally.

A Green Tea Study

A clinical study on green tea has determined that catechins, which are plentiful in green tea, show surprisingly increased fat oxidation when compared to individuals using a placebo. [1]

The results of the study were summarized nicely by Dr. Nicholas Perricone, who says:

"Compared to the placebo and caffeine, green tea extract consumption produced a significant 4% increase in 24-hour energy expenditure. The researchers indicated that their findings have substantial implications for weight control. A 4% overall increase in 24-hour energy expenditure was attributed to the green tea extract.

The research found, however, that the extra expenditure took place during the daytime. This led them to conclude that, since thermogenesis (the body's own rate of burning calories) contributes 8-10% of daily energy expenditure in a typical subject, that this 4% overall increase in energy expenditure due to the green tea actually translated to a 35-43% increase in daytime thermogenesis."

Dr. Perricone recommends exercise, a healthy diet, and green tea for efficient weight loss success. Appetite suppression, instant energy, and weight loss promotion are the key effects you want to find in any weight loss strategy or supplement.
