Writing...my passion

The enjoyment of writing.

The pen and paper have always been my best pals. They allow me the opportunity to express. They are perfect listeners, and they allow me to speak for several pages at a time. I have never been one comfortable with speaking before crowds, nor one comfortable with sharing my thoughts or ideas publicly, but when given a pen and a piece of paper, I can speak away. The pen and paper permit me to speak for as long as I like, and at any time whether day or night. I have found I can share clearly and artfully on paper better than I can orally.

I was raised by two beautiful parents who were quite strict regarding our religion. My siblings and I were loved and taught the ways of Christ; however, we were sheltered a bit. As a result I grew up to be a shy kinda girl; embarassed to talk in front of crowds or to voice my thoughts for fear of them being shot done as vague or simple. Though my siblings and I were all raised in the same household and held to the same set of rules, etc. I am the lucky one who turned out to be so bashful, and not as candid and open as I'd like to be.

Because of this lack, I turned to my pen and paper. Writing permits so many opportuinities. I can write about my day, about something that may have happened to a friend or family member, how I felt when a particular event or activity occurred and so forth. In writing there are several different ways to share a specific idea, event, behavior, your philosophy, pain, and so forth.

Writing is my passion. I read and write for fun and entertainment. I write to release feelings. I write to share ideas that I feel may be beneficial to a person's spiritual growth or happiness. I write when I am happy, when I am sad.

Writing is beautiful. It is amazing how each writer can convey thoughts, ideas, humor, and experience in several different ways. Writing can be healthy; good for the mind and soul. It is an opportunity to speak and share your voice. And if persistence and talent is demonstrated, one can even fulfill an achievement of being published.

Writers who are serious regarding this art should write on a daily basis. I have found that writing early in the mornings work for me; when the family is asleep and there are no distractions. It is good to network, search the web, magazines, and books to get as much information possible regarding writing, and how to get published.

Thank you so much. Your hubs are really great! In addition to your "Frustrated Writers" piece, I also read the one titled "What makes a writer write." It was just as good. You are inspirational!

In reply to What's On The Menu For Summer? : Art must be a difficult area for a new artist to break into, unless it is music which at least can be promoted via the Net. There is so much art out there, and everyone needs to make money out of it. Except of course the graffiti artists, who seem to exist on very little. They can exhibit so much talent, but get labelled a criminal, often for ...
