Your Entertainment & Music Business Advisor
Trying to break into the Entertainment/Music Business is by no means an easy journey. There are so many talented artist out there, whom no matter how talented they are, just don't seem to make it in. In fact, most people end up reverting to coffee shops or performing in talent shows around town hoping to get their big break. Many also get so tied up with learning the In's & Outs of the Entertainment/ Music Business and getting so overwhelmed that they end up getting discouraged and dropping out of the Entertainment Business all together. Not to say that coffee shops and talent shows aren't a good way to start, I know of many artist who found there big breaks like this. However, if your goal is to be a success( i.e. sale 1,000,000.00 albums ) then your marketing plan should be moving you forward in you career. If it's not, then I think it's time to re-assess your plan.
So how do you break into such a complicated and saturated business as the Entertainment/Music Business? Where do you start? With a manager? In the studio? Maybe an A&R representative ? Not to mention, what do I look for in a manager? What should I expect from a "Record Deal"? Which you might want to know this so you don't get screwed by money gobbling executives. All these questions are great questions anyone serious about their career should be asking, but unless you have an Entertainment /Music Business ad visor or lawyer how do you find the answers to these questions? But what's in it for you Apollo?
Nothing! Nothing at all. One thing all my friends and family seem to always say about me is that I'm just "way" to nice. Some even call it my "weakness". Well weakness or not, I seem to get a certain satisfaction from knowing that I have helped someone reach there goals. I can't even describe the feeling I get when I know I've done something good to help my brothers and sisters all around the world. Besides, I know how complicated it was for me to learn the Entertainment/Music Business. At times I would just pick up the phone and call Entertainment Lawyers just to ask questions( wasn't very successful most of the time ). So I know how hard it can be just getting your foot in the door. I'm doing this simply because this is what I love to do and I have a deep respect for the Entertainment/Music Business. And if I had someone who could show me the ropes or hold my hand through the process... well lets just say I'd have a lot less gray hairs. So that being said, I guess there is one catch.....
You have to let me know that the information is of good use to you.
