Eric"slowhand"clapton, born Eric patrick clapton 30,march 1945, is a british guitarist, with unique skills on a guitar, and according to "Rolling stone magazine", B.B. king is the only other guitarist alive, on claptons level. Claptons music and guitarplay clearly has deep roots in the bluesgenre. Together with B.B. king, clapton is properbly one of the most important artists, when it comes to have made, the bluesgenre known around the world.

Eric once said that it most likely was his experience in growing up without a father, was what made him interested in the bluesgenre in the first place, "You need to have been trough an emotionel trauma, at some level, to play the blues", he once should have said.

In an interview, clapton said that he didn´t play as good as he used to, an thats also the opinion of many of his fans, in that same interview he said " I saw an old video of myself on youtube, and many of the things i did back then, i can´t do anymore, or won´t even try".

Clapton was married once with pattie boyd, who he took from his good friend, the beatle, george harrison.

At the end of the sixties, clapton became quite famous, as a member of, the yardbirds, john mayall & the bluesbreakers, cream, blind faith, delaney & bonnie & friends, and derek & the dominoes, but since 1974, he have played solo.

Clapton have made his own music wich includes the superhits, " Layla ", " Sunshine of your love ",( with cream), and " Tears in heaven ", but he has also made covers of other artists popular songs like, bob marleys, " I shot the sheriff ", and J.J cales " After midnight ", and " cocaine ", and he has also played a lot of blues standards.
