A New Year Begins
Episode One
It’s New Year’s Eve. I’m at a church party having a wonderful time hanging with my Church Groupies. There I am playing Foose Ball. I turn to look back at the people behind me and what do I see? I see the person I least expect. I see a girl. Haven’t seen her for a while, if a year counts as a while. I had almost completely forgotten about her all together until her mom almost ran over me during this winter’s first Winter Storm. From there it all went tumbling downward in to a gigantic Snowball.
The next thing I know I’m looking back, only to see if I saw correctly. Yup, I did, whether I liked it or not. Truthfully, I didn’t know and I still don’t know whether or not to be happy. Everything is just kind of scrambled up for me now. I wish I knew what to do. I really don’t though. I gave a slight frown which turned into a tough to give grin. I was reminded I had a game to return to.
I was chosen champ at Fooseball that night. I conquered all! Yeah! Anyway, after all that endless winning at God’s greatest created game in the universe, I needed to figure out what to do about this girl.
Her name was…Alyssa Rands. She and I had gone through a whole lot of weird and stupid drama the summer before. It caused our friendship, if there ever was one in the first place, to go on the haywire. I don’t know what to do. I happen to be saying that a lot now. Sorry if it bugs you. I understand. Oh wait, I’m getting distracted. Okay. So. There I was… Umm. Oh. Yeah. I had decided to try and avoid her all together. Then it all changed either for the worst or the best, as I said before, I still don’t know.
I began to get annoyed by her presence real quick. I don’t know if it was because of a dislike of her or just that my feelings were just not set yet. Either way, I was annoyed continuously by how she kept on referring to a play she had recently been in. Now, don’t get me wrong, I love drama. I love it to death. For Pete’s sake, I’m writing drama now. It’s just that I didn’t like the part she kept repeating over and over again. She did it on purpose too I swear. She kept saying how she got married to this guy in the play. How she’s always wanted to marry him anyway. It’s been annoying since the first time she said it to the three hundred times later. I mean seriously, don’t you think we get it already? Anyway, so, to get to my point.
I’ll begin by saying that she started to slow down with the whole Marrying Story, and then things began to unfold from there. The night went on with the party, random scarifying of junk food in order to stay awake was an obvious through the night.
Then, my friend Mike began to play the drums real good. Everyone had come to the sanctuary to hear him beat those things silly. Then after the youth leaders in charge had enough everyone left the sanctuary except a few. All that was left was Robert. He’s this big guy everyone loves. He has an awesome heart and his daughter Jesse is my best friend from ever since I moved into Beavercreek. We even dated once. That is Jesse and I. Not Robert of coarse.
So Robert and I were the only one’s in the Sanctuary. I just decided to go up into the pulpit and pray to God. I was wondering what it would feel like to preach in front of people at Beavercreek Baptist Church. So I gazed down at the empty seats below. I was then interrupted by some beautiful singing.
