The details of a man's wardrobe are very important. Certain accessories such as ties, watches and cufflinks are important in bringing together a man's outfit. Some accessories fill in specific needs while others are everyday accessories - like a wrist watch. They all have their place in the male fashion world.

The necktie is synonymous with modern fashion. It is an accessory for business attire, formal wear and many types of uniforms. The original necktie was the French Cravat. Men of the royal family, including Louis XIV, wore cravats to display their high status in society. Professional men of Great Britain commonly wear a four-in-hand necktie. This is the forefather of the six- and seven-fold tie as well as the clip-on tie. Many ties have symbols and motifs to promote groups, clubs regiments and memberships. Whether you are looking for something simple and elegant, or something a little more funky, you will have a wide variety of neckties to choose from. Check out neckties.com for a terrific selection.

Cufflinks are a decorative accessory used on formal dress shirts. They fit into links and are worn as single length and as French cuffs. A wide range of cufflink styles exist - from humorous and novelty cufflinks to more traditional or modern cufflinks. The cufflink emerged as a fashionable male accessory in 19th century France. The French cuff was popular among nobles and men of royalty, but made its fame as the traditional accessory of French musketeers.

The watch is a classic accessory. Men have carried watches since the 16th century. Developed from pendulums and mechanical clocks, the pocket watch emerged in 1524 as the first time-keeping accessory. The watch quickly evolved into the many varieties that we have today. Many men own multiple watches for different occasions such as formal gatherings and outdoor activities. Electric watches are popular because they are incredibly accurate and reliable. Some electric watches pick up signals from GPS navigation satellites to stay synchronized with time zones. Fashionable watch makers include Rolex, Breitling, Omega SA, Movado and Patek Phillipe.
