First Impressions of Essiac Herbal
Some herbal supplements have the feeling, all in all, of being thrown together by someone who doesn’t know much about what he’s doing. But there’s at least one formula out there that has been in use for some time, enjoying a good reputation as a general health tonic: the Essiac formula. Developed in the 20s by Renee Caisse, this herbal formula has become synonymous with effective herbal medicine.
Today, Essiac Herbal is one of the foremost proponents of the Essiac formula. The company provides Essiac-based products and combos to address a variety of maladies: cancer, arthritis, detox, diabetes, fibromyalgia, and hepatitis C. But it’s even useful for more tame purposes, like the treatment of pets and regular health maintenance. For our needs here, I’m going to focus on the Essiac Herbal Detox Combo. This product combines the Essiac formula with a Super Supplemental designed to enhance immunity and deliver nutrients.
Essiac Herbal Ingredients
The Essiac formula consists of Wild Turkey Rhubarb Root, Sheep Sorrel, Slippery Elm Bark, Burdock Root, Watercress, Kelp, Red Clover, and Blessed Thistle. According to the company, the distinctive mark of these rather conventional herbs is their coordination in the Essiac formula. In other words, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. So common cleansers like Slippery Elm Bark (lubricant and eliminator) and Burdock Root (diuretic) are complimented with more nutritious ingredients like Sheep Sorrel and Kelp to form a unique combination of cleansing and nutrition.
Drawbacks to Essiac Herbal
But this attractive blend doesn’t mean that Essiac Herbal is the best or only source for the benefits of the Essiac formulation. In fact, there are other outlets on the market, and some of these might be more attractive to some consumers. Essiac Herbal’s website is not the most pleasant stop on the world wide web. It is inconvenient, poorly organized, and sometimes vague. If this is any indication of the quality of the product, then consumers might want to exercise caution.
Would I Use Essiac Herbal?
I’m intrigued by the idea of the Essiac formula in general, but I’m not sold on Essiac herbal in particular. I’ll keep looking around.
Response to Essiac Herbal
Consumers and reviewers have mixed feelings about Essiac Herbal. Despite interest in the formula, the company has been criticized for poor marketing and an inconvenient web presence. I would agree with these criticisms and join others in the continued search for better cleansing products.
